I cant get the answer I want for this question so again I'm going to ask here. Where did the name carpet bombing come from I know what carpet bombing is but I want to know why they call it that carpet has nothing to do with anything military.....

I would assume it's because they 'carpet' (i.e. completely cover) an entire area with bombs.
