Alright guys I have finished my foot IG army and need to finish this list for this coming weekend. I have another 95 points to spend but am not real sure where to put it. Perhaps a melta ccs but it would Mean something would have to walk. What do you guys think?

mmmh.... Guardsman "chuck norris" marbo? you can use almost every miniature to represent him and he's very cool... eheh... and some other stuff for vendettas...

Marbo is actually "Rambo" rearrange the letters anyways he is really not that competitive. Maybe a chimera for the pcs or a hydra I just don't know what would be the most competitive.

Not competitive? How about coming in right next to a tac squad and eliminating them with his demo? Or taking out 3-4 terminators with it...For 65pts he's by far the best "bang for the buck" unit in the codex...

Really? To me it seems that after you toss your 1 demo charge that has a 2/3 chance to scatter off target you have a T3 2wound model alone more than likely out of cover. Now obviously he definately has the ability to make up his points but it seems more like a gamble and Not an element of your army you can count on and one you definately shouldn't plan on. I may give it a few trial runs but does anyone else have any ideas.

Chimera's are nice, fun to play with but really 12 Ar is not that hard to penetrate, or 10 if you have a side shot. It also seems to me that while you do have quite a bit of fire power to use per turn, most of it will not be used the first turn possibly the second. That and the fact that you have 7 scoring troop choices I would consider the following:

CCS- drop 1 plasma in favor of a medic, and get an Astropath. Might help if you get DoW and have to deploy everything with a transport (your whole army) in piece meal.

Consider dropping a Melta-Vet Squad for some thicker armor, I would go with an Executioner. Will give you some cover for your Chimera wall, protecting the all important cargo.

Other than that, I would go with either Marbo or a PSB. An 8man PSB is only 100 points, give them the Chimera from the Vet-Squad IMO.

I have to agree with this or the assessment of taking Marbo. Marbo can be a game changer, not winner, but he can change the course of the game if you play him right.

So, this list is okay, but I predict it will be challenging to play. It has the look of needing to work like a fine swiss watch, which is going to be difficult, especially when you have no astropath.

Also, you're spending over 100 points per infantry squad to do virtually no damage. Give those guys some plasma/melta/meltabombs or something. Currently, they're just expensive, fragile do-nothing scoring units.

The point of the inf sqds was to hold rear objectives while shooting a ML AC and HB everyturn two of which work well against transports and all of which can threaten av11. I don't expect to be holding much in reserve very often but your right an astropath may make sense for DoW games and the rare occassions I do. Marbo and an astropath work out to exacly 95 to complete the list but I kind of want to give the ccs a plasma pistol and carapace armour. Which is also 30 points, astropath or plasma and armour? So a leman Russ for a manticore sounds like a good swap if for nothing else than the ap3

I know Marbo is RAMBO... but there aren't memes about rambo... anyway I keep suggesting him... I find him terribly funny to play, but that's my opinion...

the fact the marbo comes in anywhere you want without a scatter. the demo charge is the best thing ever. dont know how many times i have taken out a troop choice of the opponent with the demo charge. maybe i couldnt control the objective, but, he didnt either.
