Here's one for the FAQ, Gwar: Do Incubi Demiklaives count as one or two CCW's, which would give +3 attacks to the wielder? They are notioned to be two weapons, but it is not stated what they count as.

Since it doesn't say they are 2 CCW, they aren't!

It's simply one CCW that lets you choose between modes.

Also, you missed the thread. I'll add it to my local copy now, I just hope my codex comes tomorrow or I'll have to release v1.0 after the codex is released. D:

It is confusing though, since it says they are "Power Weapons", but never says how many there are.

Long Live Jervis!

Well, power weapons means at least 2. I know it doesn't say they are two for the purpose of gaining the bonus attack, but it's also not possible to have 1 power weapons.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

True, but other weapons in the codex state "These count as two CCW" where the Demiklaves doesn't.

Knowing GW, they will either:
Say they are 2 CCW and you get a bonus attack.
Say the Bonus attack is part of the effect.
Ignore it completely.
FAQ it to actually be a Power Fist.
Call you a bad person for daring to want clear rules.

For what it's worth, I do think that they did not intend for Incubi to get 6 Power Weapon Attacks each on the turn they assault.

Well, they certainly intended 2 Incubi to have 6 attacks on the turn they assault. It'd be 7 on the charge for the Klaves (if it also counted as 2 CCWs).

I'm gonna play the Gwar! card (on you, amusingly enough*) and say we have no idea what they actually intended for the Klavex or Drazhar, and what they intended will be meaningless without FAQ/errata anyway.

*and your reply implied you already knew.

Oh you!

But yeah, I would have to say that, RaW, you don't get the bonus attack for 2CCW, because it doesn't explicitly say it is 2 CCW.

Remember this is essentially the same as Calgar's PFs, "matching pair" in which the RAW theorists claim means nothing if it doesn't actually say 2 CCWs. If it is modeled with 2 weapons, and the codex calls them "powerweapon*s*" then there are 2 of them IMO of course. This is consistent GW great rules writing at its best, where they want us to play RAW by their own opinion, but then are confused when we don't understand their intent...silly GW.

EDIT: But GWAR may have a good point when he says the bonus of the 2 weapons is the special dual effects it gives it's user, I can see GW FAQ that, or something totally odd ball.

I object to the claim that just because it says "powerweapons" that the plural means that they must have more than one. If you can point at the sentence in the codex and say "This has to be 'power weapons' because 'power weapon' would be grammatically incorrect," then there's no support for being paired from that sentence. So a quote like "These <weapons> are power weapons" proves nothing.

Disclaimer: I'm picking up the codex on Saturday. Does the codex say "This weapon is power weapons" or something similarly questionable?

They say the following:

"Demiklaives are power weapons which can either be wielded separately - adding +2 to the bearer's attacks - or clasped together to form a larger blade..."

Well there is your answer

I take this to mean:

If they are wielded separately you get +2 attacks (Instead of the +1 you get for wielding two weapons in CC)

you get +2 instead of the normal +1 sound correct to anyone else?

I agree, the +2 is instead of the plus 1.

And arghnuggets I forgot to add that to my faq. xD

I'll add it in 1.1 then.
