I would lose the reapers to beef up the guardians and striking scorpions. Otherwise very cool.

I pity those sacrificial fire dragons...

To extend on what smitty has said, the list isn't very cohesive.

The striking scorpions need some small arms fire to weaken squads, and then they can pick those squads off.

Kharandras is pretty bad, your list would better be served by the Avatar of Khaine, since it will give you one more MC which means you have target saturation. WL WL Avatar.

The thing that makes Dark Reapers good is their exarch. Get one. Crack Shot, kill those bad guys in cover.

You don't really wan't to be getting into any CC fights with your guardians, so swap the warlock to conceal for that 4+ cover save. I am not a fan of defender Guardians but they have a place. ScatterLaser is a good choice for them.

Your elite slot is very heavy, maybe swap one scorpion squad out for a Max DA squad with Bladestorm and Dual Cats. You can get the points by swapping Karandras for the avatar and the scorpion squad for the DA's. This should also free up enough points for your Exarch in the Dark Reaper squad.

One problem I do see is if your Dragon Serpent gets killed, you might be a little light on AT. The list is not bad, you should have fun playing it and you should win some games. But don't count on it.

Well, you're not going to be very competitive with this list. It can still be fun and does very well against other non-competitive lists, but don't bother trying it against WAAC players. It looks rather similar to my list, so I'll give you a few pointers.

Karandras is pretty terrible. He costs way too much for what you get, and he doesn't work all that well with Scorpions. The problems are that 1) He has fleet and they don't, so you'll have to give up his enhanced ability to get the charge and 2) He strikes last in CC, Scorpions need to inflict as many casualties as possible at their high-I to minimize return attacks. T3 simply means they'll take a ton of casualties. I'd go with the Avatar for your HQ. If you can squeeze in a Farseer to keep Fortune on the Avatar, he becomes nearly unkillable.

Scorpions are good. I'd give both squads the ability to outflank. By being totally foot based, you can use them to suddenly appear in your opponent's side, helping push their army into your shooting squads. Try to find some points to take extra scorpions, the more the better. Also: Don't take the Scopion's Claw. Either keep the Exarch with his base equipment, or give him a Biting Blade. The Claw strikes last in CC, and doesn't add a whole ton to his str (the Biting Blade usually hits at higher Str than the Claw). You want his attacks coming in at I6. The power weapon doesn't make up for this loss in I. If you need a squad with power weapons (going against FnP), go Banshees, don't bother with a single PW in a Scorpion squad.

Fire Dragons are a solid choice. Be careful with them, as their WS is your only tank, and you need it to survive until they can be dropped off within 6". Don't let it get exposed to too much fire.

Defender Guardians are decent, and I like how the Scatter Laser will compliment the WL's anti-vehicle. I'd recommend you change the Warlock to have Destructor and keep the Guardians next to your Avatar. And, drop the Spirit Seer upgrade, Wraithsight isn't that big of a deal. Also, find another troop choice. At 1500 without any mech, you'll need another squad to try and cap objectives. Maybe some Pathfinders?

Dark Reapers work great against MEQ in the open. Although, be prepared to be disappointed if you're going against mech. Take an Exarch with a Tempest Launcher and Crack Shot. This single model is amazingly killy. Trust me, if you like Reapers, you'll LOVE this.

Wraithlords look good. I like their weapon loadouts. Try to keep them within 6" of your Warlocks, but it's not a huge deal. Wraithsight looks really bad, but as long as you're not unlucky with your rolls, it doesn't impact things too much. Don't overcompensate for a 1/6 chance of something bad happening.

I think its a shame to have the wraithlords baby sit the guardians to benefit from the spirit seer imo.

Seeing as your theme is obviously striking scorpions and you intend on using this list for fun games, keep the scorpions and Karandas.

On a competetive level, do as suggested above

I like to imagine the Emperor kills so many Orks that he ends up half buried beneath a pile of corpses, with only his head sticking out. A lone grot stumbles across him, and starts choking him.

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.

Ok, for uncompetitive games I'll probably use the list above as I love the idea of Karandras, although I realize he's not the most competitive. So this is the list I'm getting for the more competitive playing:

HQ

AVATAR – 155

Elites

7 Striking Scorpions – 156
Exarch w/ chainsabres
Shadowstrike

6 Striking Scorpions – 140
Exarch w/ chainsabres
Shadowstrike

7 Harlequins – 220
4 Kisses
2 Fusion pistols
Troop Master
Shadowseer

Troops

5 Pathfinders – 120

10 Guardians – 95
Scatter laser

10 Guardians – 95
Scatter laser

Heavy Support

5 Dark Reapers – 217
Exarch w/ tempest launcher
Crack shot

Wraithlord – 155
Bright lance
EML

Wraithlord – 155
Bright lance
EML

Total: 1500

So does this look at least slightly competitive?

It depends what you mean by 'competitive.' If you mean, "I'm playing with the same local guys but we're actually trying to win this time," then yeah, you'll probably be ok. If you mean, "I'm gonna take this to a regional tournament," then no, you'll probably get tabled.

I agree with you. Also, I replaced the fire dragons with harlequins. They fit in the list more, can support the scorpions, and don't require a tank.

Well, the list lacks anti-tank, especially when the enemy fields a Land Raider.
Two units of Scorpions is too much. Take one unit if you want to disrupt enemy plans.
