Hi guys,
there is one question i want you Orc-Gurus to answer.
How do i beat a Blood Angels Raozorback Lasplas Spam?
Basically, a dozen times, i played against a list wich contained 6 Assault troops with Razorback Lasplas and 3 Predators with lascannon-sponsons or Heavy Bolters sponsons. Based on the points available, the list is filled up with Baal-Predators with Heavy-Bolter-sponsons. The only HQ-choice all the time was a Captain with Powersword.
We never played a match beyond 2000 points.
I use a heavy Trukk-Army
6x 12 Orcs with Nob, power claw, bossspole and Trukks
Warboss with some Nobs on Battlewagon
some Deffkoptas
points left filled up with Killa Kans and/or Deff Dreads.
Dont get me wrong, i do have a lot of fun playing my Orcs... the list feels good
But in search for a good fight, what do you think your mekboys would suggest you to beat those Blood Angels?

Even in a truck based list you need Lootas or you will struggle to deal with fully mech lists. Power claws (and even standard Boys) can deal with vehicles, but getting hits can be hard (particularly against fast vehicles) and after your assault most of the time you are going to be stuck out in the open ready to be blasted off the table.
I definitely wouldn't waste points on Kans or Dreads, they are way too slow for a truck based list. You also should definitely be taking a KFF Mek, its should be an automatic choice in any Ork list with vehicles (i.e pretty much all of them).
Deffkoptas can be pretty useful, but against a list which has so much redundancy (taking out a single 60pt transport isn't as helpful as taking out a 200pt tank) and easy ways to block your Scout moves (by parking a 5 man unit out in front of their army to protect the vehicles) they are of limited use. If you can some Rokkit Buggies would definitely be helpful, they give you some much needed ranged anti tank for pretty cheap and if you keep them in range of a KFF they are a real pain to take out.

A trukk list will no doubt struggle against this list WOW!
All it takes is 2s and 4s to wreck all your stuff, then you ramshackle! You can take a KFF Mek and hope for coversaves, but he has SO many shots per turn, even those heavy bolters can rock you. Lame.
I have to say, his list is literally a counter to your list, and there isn't much you can do about it, as powerguy said, no amount of scouting Deffkoptas is going to get through his sleaze wall of Razors.
My only suggestion is to try 3 squads of 3 TL Rokkit Buggies. If that doesn't work, seriously consider a Battlewagon list. Try putting a big piece of crumpled up paper on your trukks to counts as Wagons and play with your friend

Some battlewagons, lootas and deffkoptas would really help a lot.

BloodThirSTAR wrote:Some deffkoptas would really help a lot. I'd argue that they would be the last thing you'd want. Taking 1 Deffkopta with Buzzsaw and TL Rokkit is 70 points. You're most likely going to suicide it into a 60 point transport, since he will wall off his ~130 point Predators, preventing you from getting within 12" via scout move. That's not really a good trade considering those are just Dedicated Transports, and yours is an entire fast attack choice. Since you usually run Koptas in squads of one, that's taking up an entire slot. For around 105 points, you can take 3 Buggies in a squad with TL Rokkits. That's 3 Rokkits per squad, and 3 "wounds" - if you can get into cover, you're getting 3 saves as opposed to 1, AND he has to roll on the vehicle chart (meaning he could get 1s) instead of insta-gibbing Koptas with Lascannons. He'll be so wrapped up with the 9 Buggies that he won't be focusing on the Trukks/Wagons. If you take Lootas, that's even better - MSUs of 5 can do very well. If you have 2 squads of Lootas, 3 squads of Rokkit Buggies, and tons of Trukks with a KFF, odds are he won't be able to deal with more than a few things per turn. Eventually, your Buggies should pop a few things per turn, and open up a roadway to those Predators. Your Powerklaw Delivery Systems (Trukks) should be fast enough to catch up to them and assault them.

Lootas, big mek with kff (surprised you don't have one yet), also try a warboss on bike, the bike will give him the mobility to go around dropping those preds or opening the razorbacks.
A small unit of komandos + snikrot can help but I would try those other things first.

@yournamehere Not sure about the Kommandoz specifically against this list - everything is in a tin can (his squad has to hit, and hurt vehicles on 6s with grenades), and if he's packing priests, they can hold their own against any Kommando unit. If your opponent isn't opposed to it, you can always attach an IC to Snikrot Even with fast vehicles, he won't be able to avoid at least one vehicle going down to Ghaz, and then you get your 2++ save if you Waagh.

Two things I would suggest. First off, why on earth do you not have an 85 point Big Mech with a KFF? That's a staple in a mech Ork list and can help in really any Ork incarnation. Mitigating half of the shots on your transports is really nice. Secondly, I would take 2 battlewagons to screen the trukks. AV 14 with KFF provides a nice barrier to getting crushed for a turn.

Oh dear This is going to end badly any way you look at it to be honest. Nobody's said it yet, but warbikers. A couple o squads of those would work nicely at speeding into him and ripping his machines to bitz, but that's providing they don't die

Yea the komandos arn't the best idea but I threw it out there as I don't know what models he has, if he had them and not lootas then try em, they can open those razorbacks, more specifically he can get to whatever one he needs gone when the reserve roll is made. But yea like I said before, try the other ones first.
