So I'm sure this information is in here somewhere, and if there is a good post just please point me to it. The search engine just tosses out too many unrelated posts about one or the other...

So my IG get ruined by speed freaks, its not even close...

I've tried commissar blobs, with Yarrick, air cav, lots of stuff, I don't have enough chimeras for chimera spam, so that could be the answer. Any good tricks or lists?

... Speed freaks ether = bikes or trukks on mass. Have you got any cover ignoring, AP4 ranged weaponry? If not theres your problem.

Yeah, I think I'd need to see some battle reports, or at least a few of your army lists to tell what's going on.

My guess is that you take lists with a lot of bloat and then just sit them on the field without moving, allowing him to reap your army like grain to the scythe.

Once again, I'd need more info to know for sure, though.

It could be of help if we knew what was in the ork army. But generally a wall of steel helps with chimeras.

Colossus tanks shred anything that relies on cover and The manticores can hit hordes well.

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

if it's trucks, autocannons will pop every single one for the most part.

if it's bikers, ap4+cover ignoring is your friend, heavy flamers on all your tanks and chimera's make sure they at least pay for themselves

Yeah, given ork bikers poor armor save, this is actually one of the times when a hydra is likely to really shine, regardless of what it's forced to target. You could consider taking one (or nine).

The bike give two saves a 4+ armour save and a 4+ cover save (and a 3+ cover save if they turbo boost but that’s a general bike rule). Hydra only ignores the turbo boost save, which is why they're rubbish (if they ignored all cover saves they'd have a use)

Nobs are still vulnerable to ID. a couple of Demolisher cannons should drop a couple of them. they will get their 4+ cover, but thats it. no armor or FNP.


Trucks(i assume a KFF) are easily popped with Auto-cannons. if you can't get past 4+ covers Basilisks and whatever the 4 missile tank is can get past the cover and have a good chance of killing the AV10 open topped vehicles.

Orders are your friend. use the order that forces cover rerolls. that will strip away cover in a hurry.

Look down, back up, where are you? You're scrolling through comments, finding the ones that your comment could look like. Back at mine, what is it? It's a highly effective counter-troll. Vendettas with door heavy bolters carrying Platoon Command Squads with 4 flamers are going to perform very, very well for you versus SFs. Vendies will easily chop through 1 trukk/turn and will even take down battlewagons due to mobility and side shots with regularity. With PCS inside it'll even count as scoring.

The PCS with 4 flamers dropping on an exploded Trukk or BW can actually fry an entire Boyz squad in one shooting phase.

Very unfortunate you don't have more chims as those will indeed get you much more longevity, both from having more mech on the table and by being able to deny assaults to your squads.

The plasma executioner with sponsons is another vehicle that I've found does very, very well against Orks; Ap2 seems like a total waste but the multiple templates enable it to really shine. When Vendies are blowing up vehicles, the Executioner can land on 6+ models with a direct hit. I've forced opponents to scoop entire Boyz mobs after five Executioner shots.

Hydra squadrons are also great. For 150 points you can throw out 14 S5-7 shots that are darn useful at blowing Trukks/bikes and also at chopping up Lootas at range.

My 'optimal' list would have 3 Vendettas with door guns, 4 Hydras in 2 squadrons, a single Executioner with sponsons, and the rest of the points invested into troops in chimeras with flamers and autocannons.

I should have mentioned that they were all bikerz and biker nobz.

Yep it seems that hell hounds and Chimeras with heavy flamers must be the way to go. Regular flamers still get you the 4+ save and FNP so the suicidal PCS seems out. Although they would do great against boyz.

Against the Nobs you want Str10, instant death and no FNP, cover saves sucks but thats life; what you really want is 1-2 manticore rocket launchers. Hell hounds work nicely on the other bikers.

Trukks+Battlewagons=Chimeras+Leman Russes

Bikes=Anthing with S 7 or higher should do the trick
Deffcoptas= Don't see why you should have any problem with these just use above tactic

Always keep your army on the move! Even if it takes away your vechicales shots, it will keep them alive! Don't expose Rear armor! Keep a blob of guardsmen to provide a screen around vechicale if you encounter Power Klaws! These are deadly in CC against vechicales!

Here's a few things that work well against Orc Bikers:

ANY VEHICLE THAT HAS A HF

Psyker Battle Squad = YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST TAKE A PBS. Bikerz run like lil girls when you use Weaken Resolve at the right time. Concentrate fire on the Nobz, until they take enough wounds to make a leadership test, and then pop them with the PBS. Plus a S9 Blast will ID anything except a warboss.

Eradicator = No armor / No Cover

HellHound = No Armor / No Cover

Bane Wolf w/ HHF = Can move 12" and still drop 2 Templates that will ignore Cover/Armor

Devil Dog = 24" range small blast will hurt if it hits, and you can move 12" and still fire it.

Vendetta

Manticore / Medusa / Demolisher

Colossus = No Cover/No Armor

IG is actually THE mismatch for speed freaks.

PBS+Manticore kills all nob bikers within seconds
Manticore kills Battlewagons within seconds
Vendettas kill battlewagons in the side armour easily and nobs also
Hydras get rid of buggies and kanz
chimeras+veterans>trukkboyz

so take a basic tournament IG and watch the speed freak getting blasted

you could take a large conscript squad to use ase a meatwall over the whole board therfore the bikes would have to get through them whilst you can prepare the hellhounds and such to kill the bikesand get units wher you want them to be. if you do this try and cover the whole table and keep a commisar in they're. oh and deploy in the "T" formation
