Today I started my next commission, a single character for the RPG 'Deathwatch'. I was going to have the marine kneeling, but this would have blocked too much of the space hulk style base the client asked for. From sprue to this, around 7 hours, including sculpting:

Cool, could you upload a pic of the greenstuff on the shoulder?

Also where is the backpack from?

The back pack is a Dark Angels Veterans one, as is the right lower arm, bolter (and strap). Found the power fist in a bitz box, not sure where it's from. The head is from the Black Templars set.

Nice looking marine. I dont know if the Auspex really works in the power fist though....seems like he would accidently crush the buttons on the thing!

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress
800 points of unassembled Urban themed Imperial Guard
650 points of my do-it-yourself Tempest Guard
675 points of Commoraghs finest!

The Dude - "Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women, man."

Lord Helmet - "I bet she gives great helmet."

Thought I'd try some OSL to liven up the black. I reckon it's worked OK. This is done, unless the client has anything else to request...

I like the free hand on this but otherwise, I dare say I am not all that impressed honestly. The lighting does little for the model, and though I see you did namely line highlighting it is almost unoticable, and should have the have some points, a little more defined in highlight so as to allow the model to show out better. The shoulder pads red is well horrendously bland, and has little in depth to it. I know this is a commission, but I am sure for the price you are probably charging them I would think you could go a little further, and bring the model more to life.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!
