As RaptorsTallon said, great for anti-vehicles, wouldn't fair well aganist hordes, maybe switch out the sniper rifle on the Scout squad for a heavy bolter?

as per above advice, I suggest you switch your dreadnought to an Assault Cannon, Heavy flamer and extra armor. The assault cannon can deal with anything up to AV 14 and will be better against light armor then the Lascannon. This will give you an extra 10 points to either give your seargent a combi-flamer, or your scouts a heavy bolter with hellfire rounds.

low point values are some of the hardest games to win with Space Marines. The only way I've found to consistantly win is take as many bodies as I can field. Usually that boiles down to two well outfitted tactical squads.

Hey up JD how's it going down south?

Small point games willl be a probably for Marines. I would probably drop the Dreadnought and get another troop choice to give you more bodies, give them a flamer and combi flamer and missile launcher - meltagun should have combi melta as flamer does nothing against tanks or take melta bombs

Its going well thanks dude, found a club and the
local wworkshop to be welcoming which is always good.

Would you say a tactical squad or scout squad then in exchange for the dread?

I say keep the dread the fire power and extra flexibility it provides is great. But I do understand the idea of having more bodies on the table. Basically you are trading the dread and scouts for a total of 21 models or keep the scouts and you have 17. The only thing I would possibly do is drop the extra armor for some more scouts, but your call sir.

Ah very good, how's the club down there? When you're back up here we'll have to game mate

I prefer Tacticals over Scouts but if you haven't got the points go Scouts, great objective campers

Yea, not sure on the extra armour for the dread, I'd only stick that on transports cuz if you can shoot, whats the point in moving anyway.

Looks nice tho, good mix of stuff!

500 points? can SM even be played at 500 points?

Only thing I can think of right now would be:

HQ

Librarian
Combi-Melta
Space Marine Bike
The Avenger & Might of Ancients.
135

TROOPS

Scout Squad
Sniper Rifles x 4
Missile Launcher
85

Scout Squad
Sniper Rifles x 4
Missile Launcher
85

Scout Squad
Hellfire Heavy Bolter
Combi-Flamer
95

Scout Squad
Hellfire Heavy Bolter
Combi-Flamer
95

495

2 missile launchers should take out anything that can come up at 500 points.
2 Hellfire heavy bolters can take out a lot of infantry.
And finally a librarian on bike with combi-melta can take out anything big.

I am not a fan on the heavy reliance of BS 3 Scouts either. I think the last list JD posted is the best right now, with some variation is good too.
