Just on a silly note... I didn't want to pay $15-$20 a pop for TWC and didn't like my other options (not an awesome converter). So, I bought a box of Warhounds hoping they would be the right size. They weren't... :(

Frustrated, my wife and I decided to go full-on crazy. The pics aren't the best, but each marine is standing with one foot on the back of a warhound. (extra spikes and scales trimmed off to make them more wolfy) I'm pending some wolf tails to add on, but that is the basic idea.

I am okay with how they look because they match the profile (height and base) of the TWC models. I could drop the marines down to the ground (so they are marines with two attack dogs a piece instead of two crazy surfing cavalry guys) but that would reduce the height too much and make them easier to hide behind cover.

"Yes, we are Space Wolves. Yes, we are surfing on wolves. You have a problem with that?"

Now I need to make a 'Canis' model. He'll be Canis Wolfborn with Wolf Claws, Wolf Cloak, Lord of the Wolves, Surfing on TWO wolves.

That's twice as cool as GW's version.

lol that one is awesome. That was partly what I was trying to avoid when making mine. The Warhounds are good and look savage, but have no butt, so it looks like a SW riding them would fall off the back.

This thread made me laugh out loud. Though in fairness... Wolf Skiing is really only marginally sillier than TWC (which was pretty silly to begin with).

On a more serious note; I think you did a pretty good job on these. Given the size and presence, I would be 100% happy to accept these guys as TWC in a game, which is more than can be said for some of the other 'less humorous' attempts at TWC.

A painless alternative would be to add ammonia to bleach in a confined space listening to sad songs and reading a C.S. Goto novel.

Thanks! My other 'serious' options are to sculpt butts on the Warhounds and add wolftails so that the SMs can ride them. Ick. Or to put big rocks on the base of each of the TWC so that the marines are standing high enough for LOS purposes and holding the chains for their attack wolves.

Your idea = win.

Huge space marine riding little tiny puppy = fail.

The only way to make your idea a little less over the top (if you'd even want that), would be to have two or three wolves pulling a chariot with a marine in it, like a wheeled dog sled.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

That is a reaaaally good idea. I need to find 5 chariots that would fit. Hmm...
