Yep, saw that a couple of days ago. Reassured me he's doing an excellent job despite all the blocking and protests and malicious media behaviour.
Still, certain media interests (Oh hi Rupert you antediluvian reptilian of evil) and loud angry mobs of badly spelt sign carrying nincompoops will no doubt continue to actively work to his downfall.
When President Palin finally targets 'that naughty country of Africania' with nukes for 'housing muz-limbs' and the world is illuminated in a last bright firework display, spare a thought for this man, who wanted to help us and who so many railed against.
As Endova points out, every item in that site could be something like "Recklessly overstepped his bounds and spent money he doesn't have to fund the laziness of illegal immigrants," or whatever.
I don't think anybody is questioning that the Dems have been VERY busy for the past two years. They did a LOT of legislation on BIG issues, despite Republican stalling.
The problem is that the public has been convinced that what they did was bad.
In general, I find people who take a "GOSH, you'd have to be a MORON not to agree with political stance X" to be a bit tiresome. Clearly there's basis for disagreement. Presuming that you're too wise to be disagreed with is not wise, and instead authoritarian.
Well said, I don't mind people who don't agree with me. I do mind people who call me an Un-American Marx loving Socialist
And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.
Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole
Isn't this kinda like everyone hating Bush, but he ended up creating a national park and passed environmental protection laws, but yet people still hate him?
I could be wrong though
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.
It was big bad dick Cheney hated. Bush was a likable guy. Just in way over his head.

That's pretty much the job description for "President."
And he brought a bad name to texas as he missed spoke.
While I don't disagree that Bush was a fumbling, mealy-mouthed doof, I have to ask, what's the deal with Obama?
He was put forth as a great orator, and while he's certainly much MUCH better than Bush, he's really got such a strange cadance. He speaks in blocks of 5 words... At first, when you hadn't heard him talk that much, it was sorta novel. Now, having heard him do it every day, in every speech he does, in every campaign stop, it's getting sad.
I'm just saying, it's bizzare to me how our Presidents can't speak anymore. They can't get out there and seem natural and composed. I think they're being overcoached and overcontrolled. I think there's a fear that ANYTHING they say wrong is going to be soundbyte the next day.
The only other thing he does is his "southern preacher" act, which, honestly, I don't get why it's not insulting to black people. I mean, the dude is only HALF black, and raised by whites... That entitles him to get up in front of black people and be all "black people talk like this!" I guess that's what being the first vaguely black President buys you.

Because it will be.
In some sense the issue with oratory these days is simply a function of inexperience with information culture, both as it relates to politicians and plebes. Politicians are too sensitive to the power of the soundbute, because too many people are too old (hopefully, because if its a matter of stupidity, then God help us) to understand that soundbites are meaningless.
All that being said, everyone has a style of oratory. Reagan gave all his speeches in essentially the same way, as did Nixon, Kennedy, and FDR. Its just one of those things that becomes humorous when you pay really close attention to it.

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.
