I have noticed that with in my recently perchised tau battleforce, there is certain pieces of wargear/equipment missing.
For example, in the XV8 battlesuit tray thingy, there ais a desterbing lack of drone controlers. Also in the devilfish trays, there is nothing that looks like a multi-tracker or a disruption pod.

while the rules state that we must show someting to represent this equipment on the models but they dont provide it, thats a bit sad.
Does anybody know any solutions?

Make sure you have proof of purchase if you bought it from a store. If you bought it online phone customer service. GW for all the stuff I dislike about them do handle missing parts problems well. If you can prove beyond doubt that's what you received then you'll get it replaced. The sooner from when you bought it the the quicker and more likely it will get fixed.

um. although helpful this is not quite what i ment. the trays were fine but sadly they do not include certain parts that could be key to an army. so although the codex give many diffrent options for wargear on the tau devilfish, they do not provide all these part in the set.

Ah you said there were missing pieces and that's what I thought you meant. I'm not familiar with the set. It could be that they just haven't updated the battleforce to actually have the pieces you mentioned. Its a pretty common thing for some armies.

possable but i would need to perchaise a seperate devilfish/ battlesuit set to conferm this. Possabley GW just wants people to use there imagantaion and come up with interesting pieces themselves, or even they just dont want to update there sets intill they put out another Tau codex or something

for instance the chaos space marine codex entry sais that you can equip a ten man squad with an ac ml or lc however these peices are not included in the box, anouther example is the noise marine box only including 2 sonic weapons when you can equip the whole squad with them, its gw's way of making you buy more models

I will check GW website to see if they are perchasable there.

the fruits of my effort say that although you can perchase the weapions for a hammerhead, to convert a fish into one, or just to get smart missiles, there doesent apper to be such a things as actual parts that represent disruption pods for devilfish or hammerheads

I have never seen a GW kit supply every option in the codex. Hell I have to shell out another 20 dollars just to get a deffrolla for my battlewagons

My friend has a tau battleforce, and I think he mentioned something about how the devilfish in that box is actually different from the devilfish you can buy separately. I think because one of the boxes was released at a different time or something. Anyway, if I'm not mistaken what this means is that the devilfish box by itself should have all the options.

Models in battleforces are quite different to the normal boxed set models. The battleforces usually do not come with normal variants/addons.

Battleforce boxed kits are put together like this to make sure that the force can fit in the box.

IIRC, the only Flechette Discharger/ Disruption pod/ Decoy Launcher/ ect. we can get for our vehicles is through Forge World. Not even sure we have a Bit for Disruption Pod. GW has a sprue for Command Vehicles in Apoc with a Tau bit that: A) looks awesome, and B) I use as Disruption Pods.

The command array thingy that you get for Apoc and spearhead is quite large thou it does look cool. I probily wouldent want to many of they since they are quite expensive and they make the tanks look kinda bolky.
While thinking, I thought that it woild look ok to take he end part on the blast cannoon and put in onto the target lock. Make an antena looking thing. You could use this quite well as a targeting array.

The Tau sprues do not include all the wargear items.

Some items are given official identifications in pp.52-57 of the codex.

Tau players make the missing items out of bitz or use other alternatives.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

This is completely incorrect. The battleforce boxes include the exact same models.

Its the same. Plus the Tau dont really have that much to represent whats what. Nothing is wrong with the box set. Or at least it sounds as though they came the same as my three sets did... I have to much cash and free time...

Your title's a bit misleading. I thought you meant you were missing contents from the box. GW rarely makes all of the components/ models for a codex. See TWC, Eldar star engines, Librarian Dreads, etc... IG tanks used to come with an accessory sprue included. Now most, if not all the IG tanks require you to buy the sprue separately... looking at you new hell hound. DE are one of the few boxed sets that provide every option.

Scott-S6 wrote:The battleforce boxes include the exact same models.

Agree.

The starter boxes have different models. For example the 40K starter box has tactical marines which are different from the SM tactical squad box.
The SM Battle Force has the exact same SM tactical squad as the SM tactical squad box.
