Dreadnoughts can take out transports at long range while vindicators move forward and bombard infantry left right and centre.

Command Bike Squad goes tank hunting while NON COMBAT SQUADDED tac squads seize objectives.

When you say anti-ork?
Is it Mech ork? because if it is, i think you have a fairly decent list (although i'm not sure the command squad is necessarily worth their points, blow up a BW, something gets out and kills them... (probably)

If their more geared towards horde, then you need Land Raiders They find it so hard to kill them, best chance they have is to stun it, and then not have to hit it, because needing 4/6s and then a roll to pen really does make it hard (unless 4/5 PKs charge you...)

Agreed, A Land Raider (or 2 ) will do nicely against an Ork Horde... i've learned that one well Though i must say, i am a fan of the Vidicator and how they can make a lovely mess of things!

Why???

Vindicators give you 3 Str 10 large blasts every shooting turn for 345 points.

Land Raiders are 250 a tank. with a multi-melta that goes to 260.

Str 10 AP2 large blast is almost guaranteed to kill most anything it goes against and always forces inv saves

The options open to land raiders are Crusader or Redeemer really for anti-hoarde:

Crusader:
1 t-l multi-melta shot
6 t-l bolter shots at 24" / 12 t-l bolter shots at 12"
4 t-l assault cannon shots at 24"

Maximum firepower: 1 Str 8 AP 1 shot
4 Str 6 AP 4 shots
12 Str 4 AP 5 shots
Only 5 of these shots force inv saves.

Redeemer
1 t-l Multi-Melta shot
4 t-l assault cannon shots
2 Flamestorm cannon shots

Maximum firepower:
1 t-l Str 8 AP 1 shot
4 Str 6 AP 4 shots at 24"
2 Str 5 AP 3 templates at 9"

All can force Inv Saves, but range is severely restricted.


So a vindicator IMO is better than a land raider in this list.

wat about termies with a landradier with flamestorm cannon instead of command squad on bikes. i don't see the need for that command squad.

can you show me the list as you'd do it so I can see where you're getting the points from?
