Subject: What armies work best in Combat Patrol?

I'm off to a Combat Patrol-sized tourney/event at the weekend and I'm having trouble deciding which army to bring. Usually, when I go to a tourney, I use it as an excuse to paint or finish off a new army, but at such a small points value, I have lots of options on my shelf.
For those who don't know the rules, they are as follows...
* At least one Troops, 0-1 HQ, no other restrictions.
* No Special/Named characters
* No 2+ Armour Saves
* No models with MORE than three wounds
* No Monstrous Creatures
* No vehicles with a total armour value of 33 or more
* No large blast templates
* You may use any codex or FW list.
And the options sitting on my shelf are
* Chaos Daemons (all slaanesh)
* Chaos Space Marines (noise-marine heavy)
* White Scars
* Imperial Guard (penal legion/fast attack/lots of psykers)
* Squats (Imperial Guard with lots of plasma)
* Tau
And, if theres a better option with a ridiculously small number of models, I could make a new army this week - it's only 500pts, right?

Yep, looks like you can take Psychic Powers - they don't mention it in their rules pack!

Fast Attack Imperial Guard. I presume this is Sentinels and Chimeras or Rough Riders? It's nice and fluffy, i.e. feasibly a combat patrol and it should give your opponent some problems. Also, I'm an IG player

Tau can be pretty good.
Battlesuits and a Fire Warrior squad in a Warfish.
BTW we may not be playing by Combat Patrol rules.

Do something like:
6 Firewariors.
Shas' el (or whatever the name of the normal HQ is), 2 bodyguards, drones.
Crisis Shas'vre, 2 extra battlesuits, drones.
And just keep jumping around, so they can't kill you. Don't fight back, just hide and wait for them to get mad and forfeit the game.
Or you can play your Squat list and win

Maybe I'll have a look at Tau - I sort of discounted them on account of too-expensive vehicles but it might work...
And this is for a different tournament - I'm still not sure what I'll take to Canterbury...

But you wouldn't want them - with no landraiders, etc to target the standard shot is better.
Personally, I'd go very walker heavy. Killa Kanz probably. Messes with a lot of armies at this points level.

White scars would be a fun as a combat patrol. Tough, fast and hard hitting! Failing that I would say guard on foot with a Hydra if you have something to represent it.

Chaos Space Marines can be brutal in really low points games, specifically Plague Marines. At such low points plus the restrictions of the Combat Patrol most armies can not field enough to deal with FnP.
Another good one would be Blood Angels because they're quick and can be given FnP.
FnP is a bitch. :(

Hmm. This might be a plan - any suggestions for a good 500pt FnP Blood Angel list? I have a load of Marines lying around, but I'd have to build and paint it in three days, so as few models as possible, really. Automatically Appended Next Post: A quick look brings up...
* Sanguinary Priest (Jump Pack, Power Weapon, Melta Bombs)
* 8 Assault Marines (Meltagun, Sgt with PowerFist)
