Would freehanding runes work? Or do you need to sculpt them?

I would sculpt the runes on a different surface (I use wax paper). Start with a thin piece of green stuff, and start working away with a knife. Remember to use water on the blade, and on your hands to prevent sticking.

After you achieve the space you are looking for then transfer the rune onto the vehicle or infantry you originally want it on. I can do a pic by pic later.

use a press mold.

lube up a rune that you want to use and press some GS on to it. wait for it to dry then pull it off. next take some more GS and lube up the mold and push the GS into it and wait to dry.

there should be some tutes for this on youtube

The GS press-mold sounds promising. I'd also consider cutting them out of relatively thin plasticard. With the [b]careful[b] application of heat, the plasticard should become pliable enough to conform to the intended surface (curved to fit on the nose of a jetbike, for example). A little work with a knife and files and you could emulate overlapping lines, as well.

Thanks so far fellas.

Its actually for making very small (2-3mm) runes on my Exodites (see my gallery if you wish) to Eldar them up a bit.. particulary on the dragon helmet piece. I already did one (and a half) but they took so long i feel like they were a trial and error fluke.

I just wondered if anyone had advice/tricks/tips.
