Sorry if this was asked before. But, if I want to use skrone from hordes can i use them against warmachine armies or just against other horde armies? Also the only difference between the two games is in hordes the warlocks use fury instead of focus correct?

Thanks

Yes, the games are compatible.

The focus/fury mechanics are the main differences.

Warcasters generate a fixed amount of focus per turn.

Warlocks can generate much more fury using their warbeasts.

Applications: Both warcasters and warlocks spend focus/fury to cast spells, buy and
boost attacks. The main difference is in how their battlegroups use the
focus and fury.

Warcasters give focus to their warjacks. Therefore, a warcaster and his
battlegroup only ever gets a fixed amount of focus to use.

Warlocks generate fury on their warbeasts to charge, buy, boost, and use
their animus. Therefore, a warlock with multiple beasts can generate many more
fury points in a turn. However, each turn warlocks have to replenish their own fury
by taking it from the fury his warbeasts generated the turn before. If he leaves
even a single fury point on a warbeast, there's a chance that he will lose control
of his warbeast for that turn.

Thanks again

Thanks for the input. Can a warmachine battle force play in a Hords turny? [visa versa] Are they Offically interchangeable?
I have not seen the force comp section, but it could be interesting on having warjacks and Beasts.

Strange how Dakka has more information than the company's own websites. IMHO

Steam roller tournments are the standard, and you play a set amount of points 25, 35, 50 what ever and will be alowed to play any hordes or warmachine faction. Its fun becuse your super anti warmachine/jack list will be nuterd if you hapen to play a horde player Vice versa.

If you had asked these questions on the PP forums when they were up, you'd have
gotten more information than you needed. However, the forums have been under
maintenance all day long.

I think that official event tourneys (Hordes Genesis comes readily to mind) may require to only allow all Hordes or all Warmachine forces. But Steamroller lets you show up with how every many points you want of either Hordes or Warmachines.

Better yet, if you play Skorne, in bigger games you can take Magnus as a secondary Warlock. Except he is a Warcaster. With Warjacks.

Hordes Genesis and Warmachine Resurgence allowed players to field Warmachine
in Genesis or Hordes in Resurgence so long as it was allowed by the TO. There
might not have been that much reason to due to the prevalence of medals
for the Warmachine factions in Resurgence and Hordes factions in Genesis, but
I like to think that exceptions can be made for players who only have one type
of army.

The other thing that's great is that allowing both game systems into events means
that the list building will be more varied. Yes, people write "hard counter" lists
depending on their builds, but I prefer the soft counter of building for two types
of armies. Instead of building for anti-Warmachine or anti-Hordes, I like to build
for anti-heavy and anti-swarm.

However, I don't win very often, so perhaps my thinking is flawed.

Those anti-tactics work better in Warhammer 40k, as thier are really only two army types you have to counter, anti tank or anti swarm.
With warmachine I find alot that take on all comer list's tend to do best, followed closely by tailored list for anti jack or anti beast.

Venthrax is oviously anti beast/hordes, while Nemo is obvious anti jack, if I new anything about hordes I would give examples but I dont.
