In the storm guardians box http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440241a&prodId=prod1090098 do you get 8 or 10 storm guardians. I want to assume you get 10 storm guardians because thats the minimum unit size. But there is no description. Also are these plastic or metal.

8 models, plastic bodies with metal arms. Have fun pinning absurdly tiny old casts.

With the right amount of glue, pinning isn't necessary (ball/socket joints give plenty of surface area). Just don't use too much or too little.

Chromedog hit the nail on the head. If you can get enough of the dire avenger pistol (or left-hand avenger shuri) and sword arms, they'll work just as good, but are a little larger.

Alternately, the High Elf archer sword arms work pretty good too, especially when paired to the archer bow arms (with the bow cut away) to hold shuriken catapults that have been cut down to pistols. Very affordable to get the bits from an ebay bits service.
