Alright, I am currently unemployed (stupid hip surgery...) and just found out about an "Eldar Night Spinner"? I have looked all over online, finding copies of the rules, but no official GW posting of the rules (they say white dwarf num 365, but I don't have a job and can't order it...). Did GW just say forget you non subscribers? We don't care if you bought the codex, you have to buy this to to use all the units for your army? The main reason I ask, is my friend has no problem with proxy models, but he will not let me play the model unless he sees the official rules as put forward by GW (eg no warseer or dakka reprints...gw's main site or the white dwarf only)...

Anyone able to enlighten me?

As far as I know, it only exists in that edition of White Dwarf. It'll likely be in the next Eldar Update, but that's gonna be quite a bit far off.

Really?...Really?...Really?...

How is the casual gamer who can't get white dwarf (in my case legitimately can't, hip surgery = no job...) suppose to play this unit then? Does GW just like laughing at us?

it's effectively a large blast ordinance weapon version of the Deathspinner weapon. It's good at taking out masses of infantry, but for roughly the same cost as a Fire Prism (which you can make with the set)...I'd rather go with the Prism.

Well, I don't know what I'd rather do...I'd love to test it out but My friend won't let me play it without the official source, which in this case means a magazine I can't get my hands on lol.

Apparently some guy posted the exact rules on a blog. just do a quick google search. If your friend objects, point out how small his penis is and continue with the game xP

Lol, I'd love to do just that. The problem is he can be a real jerk sometimes, and he is one of the worst rules lawyers I have ever met. He simply won't play, and I won't hear the end of it forever...And seeing as how I am currently not leaving my bed (surgery 3 days ago...) I'll just have to not play it for several months until I can get a job and buy a $9 magazine... lol

again, point out how small his penis must be if he makes such a fuss over a game of toy soldiers and continue with the game XD. Reading over the rules though, you're not missing out on much. it slows down nid hordes but taht's about it.

It is only in the white dwarf afaik, though you can check online. Also because it is NOT in Codex : Eldar, it is NOT legal in official game play, you need to ask opponents permission to field it.

Well, that's the thing. I have a few ideas I'd like to try (including a little extra assurance that war spiders can get in and out a little more safely). Trick is now to convince him, which trust me, isn't easy...He's the guy that got his fiancee to move her desk into their bedroom so he had room to make a 40k gaming table in his office. And his fiancee already wants to smash every single model that both me and him own...If he says no...It generally means no, no matter how pathetic the reasoning...
