Hello all, I'm a 21 year old player that has been dabbling in 40k for years now but hasn't played many games. I've owned lots of models but never really gotten serious about an army until now because I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to painting. Finally after owning a few Dark Angels, Eldar, Orks, Ultramarines, Imperial Fists, and Tyranids, I've settled on Blood Angels. I pretty much do everything backwards when it comes to 40k, for example, buying units because they look cool, building them, and then trying to fit them into an army list. Anyways I'm in the Marine Corps now but have less than 60 days left and will be moving home to Virginia so if anyone plays around Richmond or Williamsburg, hit me up! I came across dakka dakka one night for a tactics post and stayed for the swap shop.

Nice choice...and I hope you used the word 'settled' for lack of a better word, because there is nothing to settle on when it comes to blood angels. They have great squads and fantastic rules. Also, you are coming back into the game at the right time, im sure you have seen the releases for the BA's in april. Welcome!

Yeah of course, I "settled" with one of the best. In all seriousness it was the sanguinary guard and death company that pushed me over the edge, both polar opposites kind of... angels clad in shimmering gold descending from the heavens to kill in the Emperor's name and superhuman marines losing their grip on sanity in a berserkers type roll.

Thats exactly how i see them as well. I guess that was the intention behind them. Thats another aspect that make the BA's unique...you can field them as this celestial squad descending from heaven in gold and red, or a dark and tortured army clad in black and red armor! My army had to have both!
