First of all I dunno if I'm in the right forum but hopefully it's posted correctly.

Here's a link to my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/cadiansftw05?feature=mhum

I mainly post this because I am filming my first fantasy battle report on wed, Skaven Vs. Warriors of Chaos. I would very much love some feedback to make me better! I have a few battle reports under my belt. I found the biggest improvement is getting both armies' models fully built and painted, still have never hit that cap. I use a camcorder camera, it's sort of a cheap one but it has served me very well. Do you think some sort of tripod is needed for batreps? But ya all I can think of for being better at this is to be less shaky and give better, clearer commentary. I can't really decide if people would perfer watching a "recap" of every turn, or should I be filming the whole battle and maybe cut out boring and/or unneeded parts.? The recaps has worked well for me because it's shorter and fits into the youtubes under 10mins rule lol. In the end it really doesn't matter that much how good the video is, some gamers will always love to watch diff people battle out in warhammer. But feedback from my youtube channel / batreps would be great!!!!!

Nice reports - the main thing I'd suggest would be some sort of still 'overhead shot' that you can return to throughout the report. It's always quite hard to follow where all the units are in relation to each other without some sort of full-table shot..

Don't think that 4 hours of shaky video footage of a game, where most of the time nothing happens and only once in a while a guy pushes some miniatures, will be the great youtube hit. But tastes may differ

put the camera somewhere up high, and then just video through it, then at the end make a time-lapse of it and with some commentary. this way you get to enjoy steady footage, the game in it's entirity, ánd still know what happens!
although i might suggest saying what turn it is/what phase because people might get confused if you decide to not do any commentary.

You need: more than one camera, a tripod for one, and a hoist for the other for the top-down table view, players who aren't also recording the game, painted models and terrain, good lighting, and a video editing suite.

If you're going to have sound, then you need to work up a script for everyone.

Ooh and MS paint... It's amazing what you can do with small pictures of stuff. Try and make it look like the WD battle report pictures.
