I want to be sure on something when it comes to passengers shooting. Can passengers on a fast transport (raider in particular) fire if the vehicle moves at cruising speed? I see in the BRB that the vehicle itself gets to fire at cruising, and shoot everyting at combat, but no indication that the passengers are affected similarly. My current armies armies are necron and CD, so I'm not that used to transport rules...

Nope, passengers may fire if the vehicle moved Combat Speed or less, and always count as moving. (IIRC)

There was a thread on this a couple weeks ago, and I think that was the determination.

Passengers may not fire if the bvehicle moves above 6", that is in the rules for firepoints.

No change is made due to open / fast, therefore they still cannot fire even if the vehicle is fast / opentopped.

Also, in case you didn't know, if an open topped vehicle moves up to 6, ALL of its occupants can fire (though count as moving).

They are scary enough when you got them sitting in a battlewagon w/ a big mek. Giving them 6" more movement would make them nigh unstoppable.

That's how it worked in 3rd and 4th, and it managed to not break the game then...
