How does Forced Charges work in 8th edition. Under the Frenzy rules, it states that a frenzied unit must pas a leadership test or must charge if they can. What exactly entitles as MUST charge? In the current edition, a theoretical charge is pretty long, ranging up to 16" for most infantry units. Does this mean if ANY enemy is within 16" of a frenzied unit, they must roll leadership to not blindly charge into fail?

Or, would you roll the charge distance first, and then measure if you can reach or not?

The same question applies to all forced-charge rules, such as the Horn of the Asrai from Wood Elves.

I believe you roll for any unit within possible range, thus risking a failed cahrge, fortunately this ed BSBs allow re-rolling of the rage test.

I'm pretty sure it's if there is a unit within the max possible charge distance (M+12") of the unit, you have to test. As Hoverboy said, this is another case for why a BSB is nice.

Yep, if you are in possible range you must declare a charge. You know this because until you declare a charge you cannot roll the dice to determine how far you go, so this cannot be the limiting factor on the forced charge.

Hence you a) get a Ld test to restrain, which you didnt before and b) you can reroll with a BSB
