Gotta start off by saying that I'm not a top notch painter or GS guy by any means. Mostly I love the assembly process....painting is actually a bit tedious to me, but I accept it as part of the art. Most of the mini's are 1/3-1/2 painted.

Unmodified DP model. This is a fantastic model for trying new techniques as the proportions are very very similar to marines. The hand, tail, and axe are my first attempts at applying colored "glaze" for blending. I like it, but unless you have an eye dropper it wastes ALOT of paint.

Chosen and actual scale CSM.

Squad of normal ol' CSM's.

Magnetized Chaos Terminator Lord.

Magnetized Chaos Terminator and Terminator Lord with all options shown.

Daemonettes that my ex got me.

My first attempt at painting after a 5 year haiatus. I love the modified 2nd edition marine even though its a crappy ol' model.

Chaos Spawn

My conversion Defiler/Soulgrinder. REALLY rough joins, not the best work by far...but its really big and really spikey. Stands twice again as tall as a Dread...looks dope on a table at least. Fun to paint so far too.

WIP Chaos Sorceror. First attempt at what I consider to be fairly hardcore conversion. Arms, head, and back are magnetized. Still in the process of building the model, its diorama 60mm base, and all the various options for WYSIWYG in addition to things I invent from the depths of my twisted imagination.

Actual Scale CSM. In hindsight I should have carved a recess in the nid guy instead of cutting off the hand. Looks really bad, but live and learn I say.

Loving how Units are coming along. Especially the magnetized terminators, might try that with mine, what size and power of magnet did you use for that?

Size depends on the model. They are VERY strong....to the degree that I'm actually worried about the mags pulling themselves out of the greenstuf sockets they are mounted in.

And yeah, the conversion work is really my favorite part of the hobby. Even though its certianly not as polished as an unmodified GW model, I like the fact that many of my units are unique. Makes for good conversation at the local game store too.

Arlington TX, but want to be back in Seattle WA

Wow, your chaos army loos great! I love the different colors you've used....the purple armor is fantastic looking. The thing I admore most though is your 'normal chaos space marines'....how did you get that great looking metallic green?

--Awesome work!

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress
800 points of unassembled Urban themed Imperial Guard
650 points of my do-it-yourself Tempest Guard
675 points of Commoraghs finest!

The Dude - "Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women, man."

Lord Helmet - "I bet she gives great helmet."

Wow, thanks man....always considered my painting skills woefully subpar.

When painting I always use GW chaos black primer spray. I've tried cheaper alternatives and usually you end up losing some detail. The models were then dry brushed all over with Boltgun Metal.Model then got a couple of washes with watered down Thraka Green. The soulder trim and helm trim were then touched up with chaos black and the top knots were dry brushed with about 10 stages working from a deep deep green all they way up to yellow with a bit of skull white in it. This area was also washed with the green. For the "normal" CSM I used standard bodies, loyalist backpacks, and all the "top knot" heads from the CSM box set.

Very easy paint scheme and far less time consuming than the purple....which btw is my favorite color. Tend to use it alot.

Omadon's Realm

Very nice kit-bashing going on here.

I also very strongly like the daemonette colour scheme.

Not sure I'm sold on the defiler/soul grinder though, the carnifex parts are so clearly etched in my mind as tyranid...

Unless there is a backstory that the carnifex was infected with the obliterator virus perhaps?

I made it....but it ended up looking pretty horrible so I chopped off the usable parts and scrapped the rest. I'm working on this project right now. Check the siggy for blog.
