Something I threw together as a possible list for a tournament coming up. Comp restrictions: not allowed 3 of the same HS, elite, or FA.

Thoughts?

Is it wise to have all your anti-tank in 5 man squads in razorbacks?
decent long range AT armies, will kill some of your Razorbacks before they get anywhere near there tanks....
I would suggest that you have at least 3 TL LC Razorbacks....

Your also going to need to keep your troops in two blobs when out of the tanks, to make use of FNP from Sang Priest, because you only have squads of 5....

Ill keep the priests near the squads who need FC for combat, FnP is just a bonus if you happen to be nearby.

Sure, if my opponent gets the first turn some of my razors will go down. Luckily I have 8 of them, so at least some will get there intact.

I think this list would work pretty well. A shield would be nice, incase you don't get 1. turn, but I know how much you love mephiston.

I suppose they are fast, so will be going 18" first turn, meaning even if they get blown up, your assault squads are nearby....(but still only small squads....if they was a way to get a couple of 10 man squads in their, in rhinos that might work well....but would probably mean taking out another squad, leaving you with not as many Razors....)

Well I guess it's good that my list has been designed to wreck razorspam.

It seems like if you play someone with equal mobility you will get stomped. Eldar, DE, or a shooty BA razor spam. They would never have to get within 12" of you and could kite you around the table. At least theoretically.

Mephiston is going to have a hard time keeping up. If I were you, I would simply swap him for a regular Libby, or even another character such as Tycho or Seth. That would also free up some points for other upgrades you may want to give to your units.

Theoretically, yes. In practice, I imagine it would be harder, as I would spread my razors out so no matter where he moves one of them can get to within 12". Or something like that anyway.

I know, dropping Mephiston would be the smarter road to go. But the problem is I really love him. So this is one thing I wont relent on. Your advice is sound, getting a libby would help for shield if I dont get t1, and having some points left over would be good too. So dont get me wrong, your suggestion is good, and would probably help the list, but I just love Mephiston too much.

Interesting, the troop elements are same as mine, though my HQ is different.

Razorbacks it's always las/plas, heavy flamer doesn't cut it. Meltaguns and infernus pistols are fine - but lightning claws? Sure you stand a chance could be assaulting infantry out of a transport, but I'd take a fist or melta bombs in case those meltas fail to do the task. You want infantry busters go flamer power weapon.

Also never rated Mephiston, just will get blown to bits over time. You thought of a Librarian with shield and unleash rage?

LC's are there because I had 90pts left over, and it acts as a nice force multiplier when facing other 5man squads, as do the priests. Plus its fairly cheap.

HF's are free, so I take them. Lasplas would be an option, but that would mean swapping quite a lot around to pick up the points.

Mephiston provides a huge fear factor, and MC/deathstar killing power (also why the sterns have plasmaguns). He's a nice beatstick, in an army lacking but sorely needing one.

Power weapon, you don't want the claw because you don't get the bonus attac from the pistol and you're still S5 I5.

Heavy bolters are free too which are better, take those instead. Heavy flamers won't get you far as the template only works along side the tank. Las/plas is costly I'm not going to argue, but it really causes pain and with 35 points discount it's 55 points a Razorback no matter what upgrades besides the heavy flamer.

Personaly I wouldn't fear Mephiston, I see him as a weakness is a decent streamline list. Can he do what you said? Yeah sure he can, but 200 + points and no I.C makes him a point sink and easy target. No invulnerable either if I remember, so that means using cover and if you're in cover means dangerous terrain tests for the wings jump pack :(

Also, Sternguard, combi plasma you pay 23 points per Marine for special ammo why change it for plasma guns. You want that go Honour Guard and get in bulit Priests, probably cost roughly the same anyway.
