With the dark eldar aethersails and shock prow, going flat out could give you a ridiculously high S hit in some cases. The question is pretty simple (and hopefully the answer is too), I would imagine it could exceed 10 because it's technically not a characteristic of the vehicle, and iirc only characteristics are limited to 10, sans Attacks.

Q. Can a ramming vehicle’s Strength go above
10?
A. No, only a vehicle’s armour value makes
exception to the ‘Maximum 10’ rule for
characteristics.
That's from GW. It seems they consider Strength a characteristic that is limited to 10 even for ramming vehicles that don't normally have that stat.

Ok thanks, I keep forgetting that the rulebook itself has a faq, not just the codicies.

Funny I was thinking the same thing. Still 10 is good as a Raider w/o a weapon can cause some serious damage ramming another vehicle. And the shock prow is cheap to get that ability in the first place.

No. Bonus attacks can take your attacks over the 10 limit. this has been true for a while now - Khorne Lords with Daemon Weapon most notably.

I asked this question quite a while ago with my Eldar wave serpents. It seemed pretty 50/50 if the strength of the hit could go above 10 or not, and also if the extra movement from "in lieu" of shooting counted as that distance-ramming, IIRC, says you use the FULL distance your vehicle has moved this turn to take into consideration-that includes the movement during the shooting phase, giving you 36", meaning a S12 hit, plus tank, plus 2 for AV12, making a S15 hit. I bring up the Eldar example, because I'm pretty sure DEldar have the same movement options, so it's an identical problem. Like I said, the ruling was pretty 50/50 before, so I guess it depends on who you play and what the TO of a tournament says.

Two problems. First of course, being the FAQ that says it cannot go above 10, not sure how that's a 50/50 statement. Second, max distance an Eldar vehicle can use is 24", since the Star Engine move occurs in the shooting phase and Tank Shock/Ram occurs in the movement phase. Other than that................
