Hey,
I've only had a chance to look over the rule section and some of the special characters in the new rulebook, but I wanted to know how the fluff in the new codex was, is it necron and BA friend forever bad, or same as before, or do they add new things to it? What do people say? I'm not asking for someone to write down all the fluff, i'm sure in time I can read the codex, I just want to know what people think of the fluff within the codex

It pretty much fleshes out what little was there before and really adds to it. Going a little more in depth to this pirate/soul eating society of depraved immortal killers. Commorragh isn't even the only part of their city. As it has expanded into and taken over tons of small webway realms and linked them together with gates. Really well written and enjoyable. Lots to read also!

The Codex is worth buying for the background alone.
New details about webway as practically new dimension next to warp and real world, all new detailed and inspiring background for DE. You will like it, Jes and Phil really loved their topic.

I liked the battle with the Space Marines over Commorragh. It does make me wonder why the Imperium doesn't return with a load of virus bombs. They appear to know how to get there.

first, what are you considering 'bad' fluff for the BA's....I think certain parts may be cheesy....but what fluff doesnt have some of Wisconsin's finest in it?
From what ive read, they havent really made up new stuff, but rather elaborated on several things that really left alot of questions from the last codex. I think they definately define where the DE came from and what their purpose and mode of life is. There is an extensive seciton on Commoraugh, which is a fantastic read....but in no way can you compare the new fluff to that of the necrons.

The dark eldar have a fine piece of fluff to explain the change from aristocrats to cabals and T'au get themselves into trouble as usual.
I'd like to get more pages of background, but the DE got no real bad fluff so quality over quantity

In answer to element206: I am an avaid BA and IG player and think the fluff for both is pretty good, i just though the necrons and BA teaming up part was pretty bad, and even if one didnt want to see it that way it was still borderline.
From what it seems here the DE fluff is pretty good. I'll def read it soon!

Well, it isn't as if they went through a portal that wasn't guarded. Iirc, Vect engineered the entire assault on Commoragh, including leaving the webway portals open to let the Imperium come in.
