This tutorial uses parts from the Chaos Terminator Lord box, but realistically can work with any kit provided you can be careful with your plastic clips and pay attention to detail when using your files. Construction of the weapon took me about 10 minutes.

Stuff used:

GW plastic clips
GW triangular needle file
Model Master plastic cement

I feel it is important to note that using the casting flash as an alignment tool is very helpful. Its really easy to get a power weapon that has a "melted" or curved appearance due to the fact that any angle in the handle base is magnified about 25x due to the scale of the model.

First, use the clips to take the pieces out of the sprue. Yes yes, I know clips seem pointless but trust me... the GW ones make a world of difference since the have a machined flat cutting surface on one side. Spend the 12 bones if you do a lot of conversion work. It will save your fingertips from "Death by scalpel".

Next, again using the clips remove whatever blade and handle you'd like to use. In this case its an axe! Use your needle file to get a flat surface. Take the time to check the angles alot.

Using a VERY small amount of cement to put the two pieces together. As previously stated, it helps a ton to use the flash lines as an alignment assist. Allows you to get a perfectly straight weapon, and also good for making sure the base isn't at any noticeable angle.

Repeat the steps with the hilt, once again taking your time to carefully check the angles before applying a VERY small amount of cement.

There you have it! Easymode conversion power weapons. The basic technique can be used for all kinds of assembly, but this is a fast and easy way to give your little dudes something unique.

As always C&C are welcome and encouraged! This guide is designed so that anyone regardless of technical skill or experience can assemble a quality weapon from their own parts.

Yah, use real modeling cement. It sets decently in about 15 seconds, but its a slow cure over about 3 hours.

I'd recommend uploading the pics directly to Dakka, since they're wargaming related. I can't see the pics presently.

I am disturbed by your lack of helpful imagery...

Many apologies, most of the pics are not retrievable due to photobucket inanity regarding bandwidth. The only thread containing my recent work is the army build blog linked in my siggy. I really do appreciate the interest and would like to invite all of you to take a look at my recent work. Since this is a thread about custom weapons, here is a BFG as well as my recent DP build to whet your appetites! WIP of course.

PS Much thanks to the guy that PM'd me to let me know about the dead pics!
