I have been talking with space wolf players, and I guess theres an HQ that allows you to take Fenrisian Wolves as troops, and I thought It'd be an interesting change up to make a make a non-meq marine list.
Obviously there are no models for the fenrisian wolves themselves, but I saw on the gw site, VC have dire wolves that look like they could fit the bill.
I wanted to know if anyone knew of any other models that could suffice or look any closer, or just any ideas to make the Dire Wolves look for space wolf-y.

^^ BRRRRRICKFROG!

Fenrisian Wolves are awful, as they can't take objectives despite being troops. That and their stats are kinda meh. This also means you need to be taking Canis Wolfborn, who is what he is. People have been using the wolves from the Goblin Wolfriders box set for over a decade now. Although the models are a bit dated, they work well enough.

Juggernauts don't look terrible, if you convert them up real nice.

Eh, they may be worthless, but I'd love to see a single marine leading a horde of wolves.
Me and a few friends in flgs like to organize battles with odd properties and gimmicks,
e.g last one I modeled an army of headless bikers, "The Headless Horse-Marines" against an army of kroot "overseen" by firewarriors in a devilfish.
So naturally a wolf list would be perfect.

That would be good like an Ogre hunter leading loads of Sabretooths, alone

The choas warhounds also work well. Clip off the horns and you got a nice set of 10 for cheaper than the goblin riders.

Thanks for that. I wouldn't have thought of using the Warhounds for my Space wolves army.

1. There are Fenrisian Wolf models.
2. Please look at the dates before you post. This is a five-year-old thread.
