my question is about the venomthrope, if i have two of them can i move one to the left and the other to the right or do i have to move them to the same spot.
was looking over the codex the other day but did not find a answer to my question, the reson why i am asking is that i sa a battel report where they where all over the bord.

so to summarize my question: are they independent or do they move like a brood?

You can buy 1 - 3 per Elite choice, however they are then 1 unit and so MUST stay in coherency.

If you buy 2, using 2 elite slots, they are seperate units and so can move independently of each other.

I'm not sure as I haven't collected tyranids since the new codex but I thought they could move independently of each other. Listen to the people who know what they're talking about though.
