Okay, so I lied about the nudity, but the model is unpainted.

Here's some video showing a completely magnetized Dreadnought going together.

The kit has 19 magnets and takes an hour or so to do. It will sell for $6.

I am cobbling a site together for all these magnet kits, will try to get it online over the weekend.

If anyone wants the demo model for $45, drop me a PM.

It's really not hard at all. Magnetizing stuff is way easier than conversions, or even painting. Just a matter of being methodical and making sure you've got the magnets the right way round before committing yourself!

The hard part, which is what I'm doing, is working out what strength is needed and making stuff fit! For example, coming up with a way to be able to swap out the Typhoon launchers on the Landspeeder that was easy to reproduce.

IZ TOM wrote:Whats with the gloves?

Several reasons:

1. I'm airbrushing a lot more now and I find it's a lot more sensitive to the surface being clean.

2. I bite my nails! I kept imagining someone saying "Wow! Look at the way this guy has magnetized everything" and the other person saying "Ugh -- look at his nails!"

3. "They" might get pictures of my fingerprints and frame me for some crime I didn't commit!

I was hoping for a half naked eldar chick posing over the dread. Oh well.

Good job on the Dread. Its a pity GW can't design them better so we dont have to use magnets.

Currently collecting and painting Eldar from W40k.

I'd be interested in 3 Kits, providing they'd be suitable for the Venerable Dreadnought Kit as well? And that you could post to the United Kingdom for a reasonable price?

Thanks,

Martin

Postage to the UK is $3 (about £2) regardless of the number of kits. I know it'll work with the Venerable Dread, but it might be that a slightly different mix of magnets would be better - let me see if I can get hold of one this afternoon.

Great magnetisation. Ive got mine just like yours with the exception of few details like rotating power fist (just like in DOW) and magnetised extra armour (which i still have to finish)
