I went to the GW site (US) to browse around their FAQs and couldn't seem to gain access to the 40k FAQs. The WFB FAQs seemed to be fine so it made me wonder if they're going to be posting the Dark Eldar FAQs... which would certainly be quick considering the time it takes them for some other armies.

I apologize in advance if this has already been posted.

It's just another website screwup I bet (the US site doesn't have it either mind).

For example, I can still access the Witch Hunters FAQ through a direct link:

Noticed as well...

Every time this happens I get this completely unrealistic hope that the FAQs will all come back re-done, more comprehensively written and with more common sense.

I can dream can't I?

Note that the Stormraven picture was put up where the FAQs should be. Having now realised and pulled it down they haven't replaced the FAQ page that is supposed to be there (probably because they just fired their website developer).

Maybe, but it wouldn't change the fact that half the people who see it hate the thing.

Yeah, it's the web developer's fault that people hate it. If he hadn't of screwed up and showed it off early then people would have LOVED it when it came out.

You know that's what GW is thinking.

Anyway, I hope when the FAQs come back up that bs they call a Tyranid FAQ is fixed. But it won't be.

Either way its still very plausible that someone got fired over this, GW have really being trying to tighten up on leaks etc and whether intentional or not, putting new stuff up like that isn't a good look.

What do you mean "not a good look"? I can look past an honest mistake, it's not like this crap happens all the time. And in any other case this wouldn't really have been all that bad for them, the only reason this might have posed a problem is because the model, which lots of people were apparently really looking forward to, looks like crap (I am once again reserving final judgment until I see the kit from all angles, but judging purely from what we've seen I'd say it's a dud, yeah).

Of course they're not going to blame themselves for this, though. They'll insist that the reason the model isn't popular is because it was leaked too early.

Certainly you can dream! Since the Dark Elder re-release anything is possible!

I mean when a company is making a deliberate attempt to stop any leaks, placing an upcoming release in plain sight does not bode well for whoever was responsible for it, even ignoring the fact that there has been an overwhelming negative response to the actual model. Given GWs current line of thinking I wouldn't be surprised if someone got fired for leaking physical pictures of the Storm Raven (accidentally or otherwise) and this isn't really any different. Its not like there is a shortage of web developers either.

I still can't believe I've got a Dark Eldar codex in front of me right now, and that I have a small (but after Christmas soon to be very large) stack of unassembled models on the coffee table. I've said a lot of crap about GW before but I'm really glad they actually did give DE a chance, and now they have one of the best miniature ranges and hopefully have been selling really well. I personally haven't been buying as much as I want to be (I could have today but I haven't finalized a list yet...and D&D Essentials piqued my interest), but like I said, soon!

Anyway, yeah I get you now, that is kinda funny that they've been clamping down so hard on that, and then post something huge like this right in plain sight, lol.

Its been down since the Storm Raven pic emerged. IIRC the pic was located on the front page of the FAQ's think its a case of GW need to remove the Storm Raven stuff and repost. Don't think there'll be anything new up.
