I was thinking about starting a thousand sons themed chaos army and I was wondering if including a daemon prince (as well as a sorceror) for HQ's was fluffy?

I don't see any reason why it woulden't be. All mortal followers of Chaos have the potential to become Daemon Princes. The Thousand Sons are no differant.

although it would most likely be a sorceror.

a regular Dust bucket wouldn't have much to turn into a deamon prince and they really can't think for themselves much.

I thought the 1k sons hated mutations though, isn't that what sparked the idea for the Rubric, which got Ahriman kicked out of the legion? At least that's what a friend more knowledgeable in 1ksons fluff than I told me.

I'm sure that regular Tzeentch-o-philes love their horns and tentacles

Daemonhood isn't the same as regular mutation.

Daemonhood is ascending to immortality.

Change and change until Change is our master, for nothing neither God nor mortal can hold that which has no form. Change is the constant that cannot be changed.

Huh, good point, never really thought of it like that.

And yes Magnus became a Daemon Prince. All of the Traitor Primarchs did (well those who lived anyway)

Do the Thousand Sons "hate" mutation?

The Rubric of Ahriman was necessary because of rampant, uncontrolled mutation. I didn't think it was done on an anti-mutation principle OT anything like that.

Yeah, but the rubric of Ahriman wasn't done with Magnus' permission either. Ahriman just did it.

Ahriman was the one who hated any form of mutation, his brother died of it before they found Magnus.

The only thousand sons capable of attaining deamonhood would be sorcerors seeing as they are the only ones with the flesh to change.

of course Tzeench can probably change anything into a deamon prince.

now someone has to model a Deamon Dust Bunny.

the problem with that (apart from looking rubbish) is the fact that rubic marines do nothing to deserve deamonhood, they are mindless automatons, it would be like rising a bolter to deamonhood, it is the sorcerors that are tzeench's true servants

No, it wouldn't be fluffy, it would be feathery.

According to the current chaos fluff, it's not only fluffy to have a thousand sons daemon prince, but it's also fluffy if that daemon prince has the mark of khorne.

I usually run 2 Tzeentch princes with wings (feathery ones) in my Thousand Sons army.
