I took my Blood Angels list to the FLGS and played a guys space wolves. We rolled for the game type and got objectives, we then rolled for deployment zones. And then finally started the game.

Sorry for no pictures but i'll try and describe this as best as possible. the board was a standard 6 x 4. There were three woods placed on the table, forming a triangle of woods about 12" away from each other. 1 wood was on my side and the other two were on his, objectives were placed in between his two woods, one to the left of mine. And the other two were placed to the right and left and in each of the corners were ledges.

Deployment:
My opponent won the roll off and i didn't try to steal the initiative because i was deep striking everyone. He decided to deploy his whole army spread out throughout his whole side. From left to right he deployed gh pack 1 then the wolf lord, after that the rhino with gh pack 2 in it. And then he deployed gh pack 3 with the long fangs behind gh pack 3. At the very end he had his terminators and then blood claws.
I reserved everything.

Turn 1:
He moved everything up 6" and the rhino 12"

I did nothing

Turn 2: he didn't move them at all, and disembarked his men from the rhino.

I deepstriked sanguinor squads 1 and 2 the ones with the sanguinary priests. I shot at his terminator squad with the infernus pistol's and wiped them out.

Turn 3: He moved his left gh pack inwards to assist the right flank. gh pack 2 rapid fired my sanguinary guard squad 1 killing one. And his long fangs opened fie on my squad 2 and killed of 1. His blood claws charged squad 2 and inflicted 2 deaths while i wiped out his whole squad. I preceded to consolidate 3" off to the left.

I deepstriked sanguinor squad 3 with Dante and the VV squad. Dante landed in front of the rhino with his squad and the VV landed in front of the gh pack 1. I declared heroic intervention against his left gh pack. I fired my 3 angelus boltguns at his gh pack 3 with sanguinary guard squads 1 and 2 and wiped them out. the VV charged his left gh pack and i lost 3 of them and killed off 6. I preceded to pass my leadership test and they held the line.

Turn 4:The VV finished off the rest of his gh and consolidated in 2" to the main battle. The long fangs once again shot at my sanguinary guard squads 1 and 2 and killed 1 from each squad.

Dante and his guards wrecked the rhino and my other two sanguinary guard squads engaged the long fangs. The long fangs were cut down but they took one of my sanguinary squads with them.

At this point my opponent all my opponent had left was 1 gh squad and his wolf lord. He decided to surrender as he knew that his gh pack 2 and his wolf lord would be finished off by my sanguinary guards and VV.

Conclusion: i think i could have played this better had it not been a objective game. Literally neither of us even contested the objectives, and i don't think I would have won had he actually tried to get to the objectives instead of fending me off. I got lucky with the breaking of his right flank and that enabled me to push in on all sides.

Meh. Good game, but it doesn't sound like he had a very good list...

He had never faced a BA ds list and he doesn't exactly know what he wants his army to use. He just goes with what hes got.

sounded bad when power armor drops to s4ap4 shots ... even if it's 2 squads

I do not know if this guy is on Dakka, he was just a guy i met there and we never really talked about it. I am planning to play him tomorrow so ill tell ya then.

you can only have 1 Chapter banner in an army. you should fix that before next game.

Wow how did i miss that. sorry, although i don't know what else i could of taken to fill up the remaining points although they didn't really help.

how big is that vanguard squad, it seems it could be really expensive. Also I always find it not to be useful for all the sang guards to have death masks, since whatever squad dante is in has his death mask, i could be wrong i guess.


I would add a libbie

Vanguard Vets are ridiculously expensive to make them powerhouses in combat. 115 pts for 5 men, 10pts a peice for jump packs, 15 for everyone aside from the sargeant to have power weapons comes out to 225. Also i equip them with melta bombs so its 250. They are great for Heroic Intervention but if they do wipe out the whole squad in combat first round they might be sitting ducks for enemy guns to open up on you. Best thing to do is get furious charge for them by rolling a 1 or 3- depending on if you field Astaroth because they cant do heroic intervention if a special character like sanguniary priest joins the unit

Yes, add a Libby with JP, Sword and Might. If you are feelin' squirrelly, make him an Epistolary. Bam! Thats enough St10 attacks to drop a squad of Russes.
