Saturday, a raiding party of mech Eldar (me) encountered a Space Wolve force (Frank), 2000 pts, at GW Berlin-Spandau.

Eldar:

1 FortuneSeer w/ both runes
10 Warlocks w/ embolden x2, enhance
Serpent w/ stones, shuricannon

6 Fire Dragons
Serpent w/ stones, shuricannon

6 Fire Dragons
Serpent w/ stones, shuricannon

10 Dire Avengers w/ bladestorm
Serpent w/ stones, scatterlaser

10 Dire Avengers w/ bladestorm
Serpent w/ stones, scatterlaser

6 Harlies w/ kiss x6
Falcon w/ stones, holofield, shuricannon x2

3 Warwalkers w/ shuricannon x2

Night Spinner

Space Wolves:

<Special character model, laughing guy>

2 Rune Priests

2x 5 Termies

3x 10 Grey Hunters

6 Longfangs w/ lascannon x5

LRC

LRR

Predator w/ lascannon x3

Pitched battle, three mission objectives.

Eldar got first turn, but Space Wolves were faster stealing the initiative.

Final standing: Eldar 1, Space Wolves 0.
Very tight game, all dice rolls thrilling.

Unit of battle: Warwalker squadron, outflanking, appearing in turn 2, engaging Long Fangs in cc, killing all of them. Grey Hunter pack nearby tried to help out, came on top in round 7, not earlier. Three all-time viewers can witness...

Enjoy watching the pics, each of which with some comments...

First turn - SW steal it; Falcon loses 2 weapons.

[Thumb - gedc0112.jpg]
LRR and LRC come close - Termies destroy Nightspinner

[Thumb - gedc0113.jpg]
Seer Council disembarks, FD take on Termies, but 1 resp. 2 survive

[Thumb - gedc0114.jpg]
Termies strike back, one FD unit wiped out, the other (4 FDs) fall back.

[Thumb - gedc0115.jpg]
Situation gets grim for Eldar, Council fails to destroy LRC.

[Thumb - gedc0116.jpg]
Council finally destroys LRC, Harlies wiped out one GH unit.

[Thumb - gedc0117.jpg]
GH come on top in melee, Falcon boosts into objective.

[Thumb - gedc0118.jpg]
Council wipes out GH unit.

[Thumb - gedc0119.jpg]
Melee between WW and LF, GH. Stupid Space Wolves.

[Thumb - gedc0120.jpg]
Final standing: DA hold objective in centre, Falcon contests. Cheers

Thanks.
At the end, destructors would have not been helpful here, since the Council always needed FoF to reach their targets (LRC, GH).

Good job.

Well, I had a bit too less anti-tank.
The Falcon's S8 weapon was blown up in 1st turn before I could shoot with it,
and 2x 6 Fire Dragons are no insurance vs. 2 LRs and 10 Termies.

By laughing special character do you mean Lukas the Trickster? If so, he is an upgrade character to a Blood Claw pack and I am not seeing any in his list.

What are your normal tactics with this list when you get first turn?

Do you Flat Out first turn, hope your cover save holds, then disembark Fire Dragons and Council to then pop transports and light up occupants?

Not sure though. He went with some Termies in the LRC.
By the way, this guy had eternal warrior, otherwise, I would have killed him outright after one missed roll to save.

What are your normal tactics with this list when you get first turn?

Well, in fact, I usually go flat out with the units I want to be in range next turn. But he was stealing first turn and approaching with the two LRs. Then in turn 2, one Termie unit disembarked and took on the Nightspinner, while at the other board side, one Serpent with FD approached the LRC and got shot down - lucky roll by multimelta.

Do you Flat Out first turn, hope your cover save holds, then disembark Fire Dragons and Council to then pop transports and light up occupants?

In particular, the Council has to disembark as early as possible. Otherwise, it will make enough damage.
