Okay, I still need to work on place/names on the fluff for my Space Marine Chapter, but this is some of their fluff.
Said Chapter recruits from a sector that consists of 3 planets, their fortress monastery is on the central planet which is a Feudal World.
The chapter goes off to deal with eldar pirates and an ork invasion in a near by sector. Their home sector gets attacked by Chaos Space Marines who follow Nurgle who proceed to virus bomb the three planets. The chapter sends the 2nd,3rd,4th, and 5th companies back to their home world to fend off the invaders, when they get there the inhabitants are dieing and/or mutated from the virus, the marines round up those who were healthy and took them off the planet and quarantined them in the chapter's battle-barge until the marines had reclaim the planet.
After a few days of fighting the Chaos Marines unleash a new virus upon the marines killing all but 20 who send word back to the rest of the chapter. The Chapter retaliates in full force, The current Chapter Master decides that they must find a way to combat these viruses that Marines cannot even resist, so the chapter pulls out of the sector to rebuild their forces before trying to reclaim their home. Thirty five years later they come back with a full chapter of newly trained marines, they also trained a surplus of apothecaries and chaplains that would check for any signs of taint or sickness amongst the Marines and Thralls.
The Apothecaries were given special issue helmets that were upgraded with a enhanced rebreather that could resist the deadliest of toxins, this how ever gave the helmet a beak shape to it. The Apothecaries also were given white robes that had been covered in holy wax and tied incense balls to their belts to purify the air around them.
So they deploy on the main planet and with thralls and marines they reclaim the planet slowly over a period of 10 years, fighting off mutant hordes, plague marines, and daemons of nurgle.
Once the main planet was conquered the chaos marine pull back from the two remaining planets, and then in a crusade that lasted 7 years they reclaimed the final two planets of the sector.
-the end-
Inspiration: Well the chapter is themed around medieval events, the plague is suppose to be the bubonic plague. The Apothecaries in their wax robes and beak helmets are based off of Plague Doctors during the medieval times (see pic). Most of the recruits from these worlds are young squires and knights so they keep the same chivalric mannerisms. The Chapter is very big on honor, valor, and courageousness on top of cleanliness with constant medical examinations from apothecaries and chaplains for any signs of sickness or corruption.
Tactics: Being Knights at one time the marines are always anxious to prove themselves in combat against worthy foes. They use a high amount of rapid-assault units from Assault and Vanguard Marines, and bikes. To keep sure no marine fall to infection during combat they always have a surplus of apothecaries on the battlefield fighting along side their battle brothers. They also use flame-based weaponry to purify the bodies of those who have been infected.
Recommended Units (Blood Angels):
Chaplains
Assault Squads
Baal Predator (Purity Pattern Predators)
Bike Marines
Sanguinary Priests (Plague Doctors)
But there are still some companies (especially the 1st, 6th, 7th and 8th Companies) who hold onto the old traditions of bravery and courageousness over the obsessive and ritualistic cleaning that the other companies have clung onto.
Recommended Units (Space Wolves):
Paragons (Wolf Guard Battle Leader)
Paladins (Wolf Guard)
Slayers (Lone Wolves)
Knights (Grey Hunters)
Knights-Errant (Blood Claws)
Archers (Long Fangs)
Yeah I still need to do some work on names/places/ Chapter Name any suggestions would be helpful.
