There's a tournament this Sunday at the new FLGS, and this is the suit-heavy list I'm thinking of playing. Comments/critiques welcome.

The basic plan is to attach the Firestorm suits to the AFP Commander and jump the naked Fire Warriors into the Pathfinder Devilfish. Thoughts?

What are you going to do about 30 FNP jump marines? You have zero bubble wrap, and very little damage output. Honestly, at 1500pts, 2 x Broadside squads will be enough, especially if you outfit your elites right. 3 x 2 Fireknives (plasma/missile/multi tracker) is the order of the day here my man, and I'd pop in a pirahna with fusion/TA for blocking/raiders. Remove firewarriors, add 2 x 13 man kroot screens, and your on a winner. Also, keep your Shas'El as Fireknife as well, with a TA, the airbursting frag is a bad idea, it doesnt really see much use. With the broadsides, run 1 with BASS, and 1 with TA. Lets you set up a gun turret, and keep the other one mobile for shots of opportunity.

I don't like your commander. AFP doesn't go really well with a missile pod, at all. Either give him AFP w/ CIB/BC/Fl or make him a fireknife.

I would suggest that you get rid of the deathrain in your one crisis suit unit and make him a fireknife.

Your heavy support, Fast Attack, and troops look fine.

Sneaky Dan, what will any Tau player do with 30 FNP jump marines? Cry. That's what. 17 kroot is a good investment I think. Any more would harm your effectiveness against other lists. The Devilfish can keep the firewarriors safe, broadsides can never do much in those situations, and the crisis suits will be able to gun down the assault marines quite effectively.

If it is really a problems, just get Crisis suits with PR/FB/MT, and as many as possible. Deny FNP and Armor saves. With six of those, you could kill about 12.5 Marines a turn (calculated with ML support)

Sure you'd be in assault range, but you could just bubble-wrap them in the kroot you already have, giving them another turn or so.

Alternatively, you could get a load of crisis suits with PR and Flamers. Flame the masses of jump infantry, and then roast whatever is left with plasma rifles.

I can't believe I'm actually suggesting a PR/FL suit....
