okay so, I have my Archon in a unit of wyches (not his lame ass court because then this would be different) I go to charge a squad of lets say tactical marines with a squad leader that has a Power weapon. my Archon is not in base to base contact with the enemy but is within 2 inches. The seargent attacks with his power weapon/ power fist and hits twice. I roll a 4 for my clone field. Since i can allocate wounds on my squad i say those 2 attacks I'm putting on my Archon. those two attacks hit my holograms and are nullified.

Am i doing this right? And if so lets say i have two shard-nets and impaler and i roll a 6 allowing me to nullify 3 attacks. Ultimate tar pit? Plus i pack an awesome punch.

Or am I doing it wrong?

No, because in CC an IC is treated as a seperate unit. You can only allocate wounds that are inflicted on the unit. See page 49 (from memory)

The power weapon has not inflicted any wounds on your Archon unit.

London

And the Shardnet and Impaler will indeed reduce their attacks by 3, but only to a minimum of one, so unless you're being charged by Boyz or anything else with an insane number of attacks, ther really isn't a point in grouping them up to make them lose 3 attacks.

Valk...consider instead mobbing an enemy character with them. Might not kill him, but you can bog him down for a fair old while.
