Some units that can infiltrate can also take an additional movement. The one example I know of are scout bikes who can do speed boost. I know per errata that you can speed boost on infiltrate but you still must still stay 12" from the closest enemy model.

Q. Can bikes Turbo Boost during their Scout
move?
A. Yes they now can, but remember that they
have to remain more than 12” away from the
enemy as they move.

However, I'm playing a (younger) tryanid player and he plops his unit (can't remember what) down infront of my assult squad + chaplain HQ, after an infiltrate. I point out that "it's not in the rule book but in the errata that you can't do that" (I know this because I love scout bikes) Well an argument ensues, and it's one of those I can't allow, because I'd certainly lose. Doing this was his "prime strategy" so he wasn't backing down either, but in the end I won the argument, and the game, but I felt bad because it wasn't in black and white. I told the youngster, welcome to warhammer 40k, but I still felt bad because winning isn't everything in table gaming; for me at least. Granted this was with the old tryanid codex; he was a younger gamer and did have enough cash to get the new one, so I let him use the old one, so this might be a moot point, but I don't want it to come up again as Tryanid players HAVE to get to you and will do anything to do that- so I might see it again.

So my question is does the rule above apply to every unit that has an infiltrate plus bonus move.

You seem to have your rules mixed up. Infiltrate is different to scout move.
Which one are you asking about?

It is spelled out in black and white.

Check out page 75 of BGB. Infiltrators cannot deploy closer than 12" and must stay 18" away if they are in LOS by an enemy model.

The scout restriction to 12" is also spelled out in the BGB on page 76.

First off Infiltrate /= Scout

Scout allows any normally deployed model to make a normal Move before the game starts. Hence bikes can Turboboost during the Scout movement, but must remain 12" or more away.

Infiltraters are not deployed normally, but instead are placed after both sides set up and have to be either 12" away (entirely out of LOS) or 18" away (in LOS) - however they arent moving here, this is a simple "in BRB" rule that does not reference the scout move at all.

Some rare units have Scout AND Infiltrate. These can infiltrate, THEN perform a Scout Move, but must still remain at least 12" away from enemy models.

IIRC, some bugs in the old codex had infiltrate and scout which would make what he did technically illegal (he should have deployed infiltrators, then you could scout move, then he could scout move)

He still would have been able to block your bikes scout move because infiltrate happens first, and he could infiltrate then scout to 12" away.

lmao....that lil pic thing is hilarious grundz...but as to the original post, I know for a fact Eldar pathfinders have both stealth and infiltrate, as an example....

Stealth has nothing to do with movement.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

you mean tau pathfinders?

GENERATION 10: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

naw bruh, I mean Eldar pathfinders. See, you get a squad of rangers, and then pay like an extra 5 points to their 19 (so 24 points per model) and then bam. you have insto-pathfinders. they have +2 to their cover saves due to stealth, infiltrate, scouts, and their mover through cover gets upped to no difficult terrain tests. (man, it's sad. I've never played eldar, played against eldar, don't know anyone who wants to play them, and and I know a little bit about them....I just want them soooooooo bad.....)

Automatically Appended Next Post:
and to Darkness Eternal, I meant scout....my baby was crying and trying to get ahold of my broadside, so I was dealing with her, trying to feed her, talk to captain killjoy, typing, and keeping an eye on my wife to make sure she didn't get near my porn stash....(now if that ain't multi-tasking, I don't know what is) so I humbly beg forgiveness for my typo.
