Since "The Walking Dead" premiered 3 weeks ago, discussions I've had with folks about it make you think its the best show ever, giving people meaning in their lives, perfectly executed. With all the buzz...you'd think this is Emmy Material.

Hold on there buster.

Now, I understand the need your common man has for dead flesh eating cannibals in their life better than moste. (deadshane?) However, lets put this into perspective shall we?

Well done show? Check.
True to the comic...even with deviation? Check.
Solid casting? Check

But

Action packed? Not even, in fact, if you remain objective, it's borderline boring at times.
Wonderful drama? Well, thats what "The Walking Dead" is all about...the human drama, but gimmie a break...its zombies.
Awesome acting? Well, thats what EVERY fanboi says about his show if it shows even the slightest bit of success.

I can feel this way yet still REALLY appreciate the show...I havent missed an episode yet and dont see it happening. How do we as fans REALLY feel?

Keep it in perspective when talking about the show folks. Yes the show is good. What makes it GREAT to us isnt the acting, the action, drama, hotties, or anything like that. What makes the show great is simply that we've got a zombie show that doesnt suck and might last more than a single season. THAT's what's great about it. Noones winning an emmy off of that show...not at this point. Dont be blind zombie fanboiz..."the bestest show evar!!!" (it's not, star trek was...but that's another discussion)

A weekly zombie show that doesnt suck. If you would've suggested that before "the walking dead" comic , maybe even the show itself, ever came out, you would've been laughed off the boards. Our show doesnt suck, it's decent drama, and we've got zombies thrown into the mix. That's "The Walking Dead", thats all it is, and we're lucky.
