My local GW store is having a simple 400pt 2v2 tournament. As its 400 pts, its your normal no more than 32 pts, no 2+ wounds, etc.

I'm registering late, and alone, so all I know is that I'm probably not going to fair so well, and that my partner is an orks player, whose list I have never seen. I play Chaos (so most of my toys are out of the question). That being said, here are the two lists I am considering

Khorne Berzerkers x6
Champ w/ fist
Rhino

Khorne Berzerkers x6
Champ w/ Power weapon and melta bombs
Rhino

or

Khorne Berzerkers x7
Champ w/ Power Weapon

Noise Marines x6
5 Sonic Blasters

Both lists come out to 397 pts

I'd say the first. People won't be expecting Mech at such a low point level. Catch them off guard, get into range quickly, and then strike.

I like the first one as well.

in such a low point game, either pick CC or shooting and buy all of that.

In some defense of the second list, in the event I run into another tank, shouldn't I have some anti tank. Would also give some firing support, especially considering that I will have an ork partner that will likely have something marching up to help out the berzerkers.
