Hello Dakka. I'm back from a bit of a vacation from 40k and on my way to starting an Eldar army. Being my first attempt at Eldar and building a semi-competitive list I could really use some C+C. I would like to show up to my FLGS tournaments and not get stomped horribly . My mentality so far has been unit redundancy in terms of role so here's what I've bought/built/painted so far:
Eldrad
5 Warlocks on foot (Seer Council)
3x DA squads, Exarchs included
1x Full Howling Banshee squad with Exarch (can switch for either Mirrorswords or Executioner)
5x Wave Serpents (magnetized weapons)
2x Fireprisms
I figure so far I have 2 melee oriented units (Eldrad goes with council), Enough Anti-Infantry to cause my opponent headaches and some AT. That being said I think Fire dragons are next up on the purchase block along with some rides for them. So I guess my question is, with the models listed, what models should be added and how would you equip the Wave Serpents/Warlocks to make an all comers list? My ideal play level is in the 1750+ range if that helps. Thanks everyone.

Well, I'd take a Fortuneseer with both runes and increase the number of Warlocks (giving enhance and embolden).
A small Council doesn't cut it.
DA Exarchs should have bladestorm and dual cat, if you have the points.
What's the weaponry of the Serpents?

Thanks wuestenfux. I figured my core list would be the 3 10 man DA squads in serpents (exarchs have bladestorm + dual cata) with farseer and work up from there. The wave serpents I magnetized the weaponry so I can equip them however I want. That being said I would go for as many EML or BL as possible to help with the longrange AT I seem to be lacking. Good idea on the council. Are council loaded in a wave serpent as effective as a jetseer + council on jet bikes?
The way I pictured my strategy to be was to have line of WS with the DA flanked by my fireprisms. Behind those would be my melee oriented transports of council + banshees. Figuring when my opponent eventually hits my serpent wall I can just hop over and have my counter attack ready to go.
I had a similar playstyle when I was a BA player. Eldar are a whole different animal so I'm not sure if the strategy will still hold. Would it be better to have a jetcouncil with this strategy instead?

This would probably work better with JetSeers since a unit cannot charge out of a non-open topped tank when it has moved.

If you're taking Eldrad, don't bother with Warlocks. Leave him in a WS at all times. If you want a warlock squad, get a Farseer (with Fortune) on a jetbike and take 7+ warlocks on jetbikes to accompany him. Leave the Banshees out. They simply don't work as well as you'd think they do. Fire Dragons are a must! Get a squad, possibly even 2. Go with 5 FD, no exarch or other upgrades (other than a WS). For the DA, take 10 with Exarch with dual-catapults and Bladestorm. For the WS: on the FD serpent, take TL-Cannon or Scatter Laser if you have the point. For the DA serpent, take EML or Brightlance. If you have more points to spare, I'd recommend War Walkers. Eldar play VERY differently than BA. Both can mech up and get fast transports, but BA typically want to meet the opponent head-on. Eldar want to stay away from the opponent and just force them off an objective and cap a few more at the last moment.

Good job so far.
Storm guardians are legit with flamers.
Make your seer council a little larger.
Firedragons do work.
War walkers would work great in your list.
As far as the serpents double cannons are great. Just make sure you do not give them lances.
Jetbike council is great but it costs alot and requires conversion. But its legit.

Thanks a lot for the advice everyone. It would seem the concensus is to work along the lines of:
Eldrad (go with DA)
3x 10 man DA squads, Exarch with BS and dual cata in WS w/ BL
2x Fireprisms
Jetseer, both runes, fortune/doom
Jetseer council, 7+ warlocks (embolden and enhance at least)
5 man FD in Wave serpent with scatter laser
I would like to fit in one more melee oriented unit if I could, but everyone is right: non-assault vehicles really hurts the army. Just relying on one unit to keep assaulters off my WS seems light, but that's my marine mentality talking. Storm Guardians do intrigue me, especially for the ability to run 2x flamers and a destructor. Do people run destructors or enhance though? At higher point I'll probably run 2 squads of them on top of what I have.

That's a very expensive list, but looks (mostly) good!
Don't bother with RofWarding if you already have one from Eldrad. These aren't hoods, they're unlimited range. If you take 2 powers, make sure to take Spirit Stones on the Farseer.
Give the Jetlock council a few Singing Spears. You want them to be able to pop a transport in shooting and then assault it. But, don't overdo the Spears, you need maximized attacks in CC. I'd suggest 4 or so.
Don't worry about the melee focused units. You don't need to worry about assaulters on your WS. You can outrun them REALLY easily, and hitting fast moving skimmers in CC is basically impossible. You have no idea how many times someone has assaulted one of my tanks with a unit they're sure will destroy it. I inform them they they only hit on 6 and watch all their attacks come to nothing.
For the Storm Guardians, always run Destructor. Enhance is a waste on them, as they are actually really terrible in CC. (S/T 3 is a huge downgrade from your 4s )

Dont worry about your wave serpents getting assulted. If you move 12 inches they need 6s to hit.
