Hi everyone, just joined up. I've been browsing for awhile, but was always too lazy to join. I'm playing Ultramarines right now, but I really want to start up with necrons once the new codex roles around. Anyways, hi!

I dunno yet really, been thinking about it but nothing concrete yet. I've only painted one model so far (wraith) and just went with the basic necron scheme: silver, black wash, brown wash, black wash, then highlight with silver, and might just stick with that. However, I did see a ceramic paint scheme on here at one point that I liked, and I might try that if I can find it. I figure I have plenty of time til the codex comes out still to decide. I might even get the codex first, look at some of the examples, and then pick a scheme. I am very indecisive

I know someone who did them in the standard colours, gave them about five washes of badab black, matt primer, and then used OSL to make it look like it was night any their guns and eyes were the only visible things. Effective, yet time consuming. Anyway, lets see how the SM's get on first anyway!
Edit: Just saying that it seems like you're not settled for a list. Not accusing in any way.

No offense taken at all. I've been working on the SM for about 3 years but just now trying to put together a better list and thought I'd get dakka's opinion first. My semester ends in a month, and then I got a 9 week winter break to paint and play, so I'm getting my planning done now. And the necrons are a long time off, right now just thinking. I'm gonna wait to see new codex before I commit to anything.
