I would like to see what other players think about this.....
say you shoot a unit, with an AP3 weapon, and the said unit has a 3+ Save and FNP.
Since the weapon being AP3 denies the unit its armour save it does not get to take a FNP roll, correct??
FNP states you get to make a roll for each unsaved wound, if you cannot take a saving throw, you cannont roll for each one you fail to save right?
Help!

Incorrect. You have to not be able to take an armor saving throw using any armor, not the armor you actually have.
So, it applies to power weapons, AP1, AP2, and anything else that explicitly ignores armor.

Yes, a model with FNP and a 3+ save shot by an Ap3 weapon can use its FNP roll. Wounds from AP3 weapons do not deny all armor saves and are not one of the types of wounds listed in the FNP rule as defeating FNP (Ap1, Ap2, power weapon, dangerous terrain etc).

Try using the search function, this has been discussed to death. The only weapons which ignore FnP from an Ap viewpoint are Ap1 and Ap2.

This is correct. Otherwise, units with worse armour would have worse FNP. In fluff and gaming terms, it makes no sense.

It's also worth mentioning that anything that causes instant death also ignores FNP.
So, in your example, if that weapon is a krak missile, and the model is a marine, then the s8 will ignore the FNP because marines are only t4, and s8 would cause instant death.

The wording for "wounds that do not allow armor saves" is there so that you can not use FNP against wounds caused by dangerour terrain tests and such.
If it was the way you were thinking, ork painboys would be almost useless since nearly everything bypasses their armor.
