Here is a pair of High Elves that I recently painted as part of a commission. The whole force used variations on the traditional High Elven colors, so these guys went the same direction.

With the brightness level of the minis, they didn't really want a glow effect, but it is pretty impressive how far simply painting the flames with the right gradient will do.
