Hello All

Let’s get through what my intentions are for this blog. I do not intend to paint or post any GW made models on this blog... What you can expect to find here is a few pictures of different models I'll be painting. Some come from stand alone miniature companies, and some from different war games.

At this point I am more interested in painting models I like, rather then producing large armies. I'm not the best painter in the world, and I'll be the first to admit it. I want to post my models here, so I can receive constructive criticism from some of the more experienced painters and modelers on Dakka, as well as draw some attention to companies other then GW that produce some cool miniatures.

Here is my first model of the blog. The White Speaker, produced by Kingdom Death. Link to store: http://shop.kingdom-death.com/products/all-categories_0/?page1

This was my first serious attempt at painting a miniature for display purposes as opposed to gaming purposes, she took longer then any model I've painted so far. I'm a big fan of Kingdom Death, and have many of their models sitting, waiting for assembly. If you like the White Speaker, check out Coolminiornot.com for some far better paintjobs then anything I can currently manage.

Hope you enjoy the mini, and look forward to sharing this journey with you.

P.S: I’m always looking for companies that produce unique mini’s, if you want to recommend any, Please do so!⨪

Just an update on the White Speaker featured above. I have since gone back and fixed (At least I hope that's what I did) spots where the washes pooled and marked the skin, mainly near her left ankle, and around her chest area. I will post more pictures once I get my camera in working order again. I've also been working on painting the Kingdom Death Savior. The model can be found here: http://www.kingdomdeath.com/

I’m currently waiting for some Sphere Wars/Infinity Miniatures, and there will be some Dust Tactics Mini's in the pipes once Christmas arrives.

Also been recently looking into Malifaux, has anyone reading this got any experience with the models/rules, if so please comment and let me know what you think of them. I'm intrigued with them from an aesthetic point of view, not sure how well the game runs.

That’s all from me for now, new pictures soon!⨪

Nice model Operator! skin tones look great, and the stone work is also very realistic. look forward to seeing more interesting minis from you. Not a great painter myself, so i cant give any technical advice . But i think your on to something with the realism though.

Nice painting so far, the flesh looks a bit textury? It might just be the picture though. How much are you diluting your paint? By the way I love the kingdom of death line, sadly I've missed out this one and the Wet nurse. Its a shame about you leaving 40k, but Malifaux sounds intriguing I have some of the mini's but for lack of anyone playing around me I've not really gotten into it.

Good luck on the blog, and keep us posted.

Hello all,

I got the camera back up and running, so I took some pictures of the completed Savior model from Kingdom Death, and the touch up on the White Speaker's leg. I'm really enjoying painting these models, now that I'm not painting various copies of the same models.

@ niel101- I'm glad you liked the stonework, I was worried that people would find it a lazy way of dealing with the platform supplied with the base that her foot is made to rest on. Oddly enough I actually did not intend to base these models, I just painted the bases grey on my Priest, and Twilight Knight (Also from Kingdom Death). however I lost the paint pot, and could not remember the mix I used. So I decided to go with a base instead.

@Sersi- Thanks for the compliments, the skin is a 1-1 of Dwarf Flesh, and 1-1 of Elf Flesh mixed together and the once dry I go over it with ogryn flesh. The Kingdom Death line is amazing, I missed the Forsaker and had to opt out of the Wet Nurse, I have nieces ad nephews running around, and they like looking at the models in my case, and as anything not in my case gets eaten, lost, or destroyed I'd of had nowhere to put it. as I stated above I have the Preacher and Twilight Knight pin-up as well, they are painted, I might post them in my next update if anyone wants to see them, though they were painted some time before this blog.

She is leaning because when I received her the right leg was broken slightly above the ankle, and it was hell to get it back on the body, As for painting her, she was fun, but more challenging the the White Speaker. I think she turned out o.k. I'm starting to miss the broad surface area of space marine armour. I also went back and fixed up the White Speaker's left leg.

When I went back to do the touch up on the leg, I noticed there was a small divet running the length of it, I don’t trust myself with a file anywhere near resin So I painted over the wash that had caught in it. cant really see it now.

And finally, look what came in the mail. I'll be working on one of these next.

C&C's welcome!
