Hey i am posting here because i have just got to the point were i am going to try and get my game published. I have been working on this game for about 2 years now and i want to know what you guys think. -

It takes place in 2018 just after the U.S.A found a so called "Cure" for some sort of a disease that has just been introduced by a new source of bio hazardous chemical that scientists though would help people live longer and healthier, but instead it caused a severe case head aches, lose of most control of their bodies and in some cases death. They sent the cure around the world, over 90% of the worlds population took it. Thing is the side effects were unknown because they used it on animals first not humans, so once they used it on humans they soon found out that it did cure the effects of the Bio-Hazardous materials for a good 4 weeks or so, then after that period, the users of the "Cure" turned into a walking corpse ever hungry for flesh, and a severe case of rage. They eventually started eating the surviving humans(because of there rage, and because there flesh eating zombies.) They also found out that when bitten, within a week or so of being bit, they would transform into the same thing they were bitten by.

The game play is a fast pased RPG, (if you've played Malifaux you know what Fast-pased is) It uses a ruler for all purposes of measurement , It has many different features including realistic ones such as eating, sleeping, cuts, barricading doors, sounds, ect. You level up by killing a certain amount of creatures, disabling traps, car alarms, opening locks, (if your the correct class), ect. You get to pick your class from a good size list, when you level up you pick from a huge amount of skills, both passive, and usable ones. One person controls the army of zombies and 1-6 players control a survivors, or their character. They must survive as long as they can by killing zombies, scavenging for supplies, and looking for a suitable base of operations, They also run the risk of being infected by zombies, which they must find the "Cure"/ Cures, on the map, (the zombie player selects were they are on the map or he can make the players roll to see were they are on the map.

I will be releasing more info when im on the at the end of my production phase please reply, telling me what you think about it, and any other ideas. And please dont ask about NPC's around the map, I tried making this work but it just didnt "go" with the feel of the game if you know what i mean, Thanks guys.

So it's kind of a mid point between RPG and a Miniatures game ?

Ok Balance that's not what i asked what so ever, so please if you have pointless posts please don't do it here,

For you other guys yes i do have different zombies for now i have a Lesser zombie (Slow moving regular zombie), Greater Zombie (Fast running zombie like in 28 weeks later), Spitter (it spits acid at you), and a stalker/leaper not sure what to name it (its a creature that crawls around on buildings and such and leaps towards the enemy and attacks them. And yes its an RPG miniature game. so its a Survival RPG thanks for the posts

Offhand, you've got a lot of competition. Have you looked at the other zombie RPGs, tabletop games, etc. and seen what they're doing and how your game is different (and hopefully better)?

I like the idea of different kinds of zombies.
It sounds a bit like the Left 4 Dead computer games.
What is your game to be called?

Oh thanks, and ya im thinking about adding about 3-4 more game modes such as gathering materials in a certain amount of rounds, holding off against endless hordes for as long as you can, and stuff like that. Hey if you guys can think of something by all means let me know and ill test it out and see if its good. Thanks.

Here are some suggestions for the Zombies. You should also have things called Infection Points, which work like this: If you get 1 Infection point, you have less health and your movement is shorter. These get worse and worse until you have 10 infection points, which then you get turned into a lesser zombie, and every 3 turns that you don' treat it, you get another Infection Point. There should also be tiny samples of the cure around, so you can cur the infection points.
Gargant: A bloated up lesser zombie. When you kill it, you get blasted with guys that attract the zombies around you to you, and does damage.
Reaker: A Greater zombie, with less health, but comes in giant packs. When they attack you, they attack, and they drag you away. Multiple Reakers can drag in multiple directions, there for ripping you in pieces.

Infection points sound awesome!

I like the idea of "leveling" as a zombie via Infection points. There ought to be a sort of branching condition track whereby you can "level" in either direction--which is to say, either as a more powerful zombie or a more capable survivor and perhaps eventually "zombie hunter."

Dude thats an awesome idea thanks for the post i will indeed put this in my game i did already have points of infection when you died, but i like the idea of turning into a zombie, and for the zombies these are awesome damn dude thanks for the post you just filled my mind with a lot more stuff to do with the creatures thanks again dude.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And for the skills you get when you level, should i make skill trees or should i just have a list of skills cause right now i have like 2 pages of skills, so should i make 3 skill/trait trees for each class or just leave it how it is? Thanks

Well thanks for all the praise on my idea. I also think you should add a skill tree, not a list of skills, because then you'd have to WORK for the good skills.
And I got Gargant from Plants vs Zombies, and I infused it with the Boomer from L4D. Heres another suggestion.
Ripper: In its previous life, it was an experiment gone wrong. With a Butcher Knife for a hand, it can cleave off someones head in an instant. A greater zombie with more health, and has a chance to instant kill.

Fodderofdoom suggested 'gargant' as a variant specialist zombie. I was being a downer and trying to determine if the term has any real usage outside of GW.

The only problem with an instant kill weapon is that eventually close combat oriented classes will get very annoyed when they go in and instantly get killed i like the idea, its just there may be some issues with that. And ill probably make it so he can cause criticals like normal players which would make him deadly. Thanks for the post and im working on the game modes right now so far i have Survival- which is you must take refuge in 1 selected building on the map and you may pick 2 weapons and you must stay alive as long as possible, (This is only in beta, this isnt finalized) Scavenge- Which is you must go around finding items, and equipment every turn or you start losing certain buffs and upgrades on your base that you get depending on how much stuff you get in a round, so if you get like 2 things of equipment you get like reinforced windows, ect. and then Story Mode- Which is the normal game where you level up, kill zombies, find items, guns, food, ect. pretty much the main game with nothing special about it. Thanks and keep replying Oh ya and keep track on my website http://moonscarstudios.webs.com/ Thanks guys

Well heres a shot at it:
Game mode:
One bullet: Every weapon has one use only. If you kill a zombie with it, you get another use. You must survive until rescue arrives.
Talent:
Disarm: Your character dismembers one zombie's arms. Roll 1D12. On a 8+, you rip it off. This is increased to 6+ if you have 2 weapons.

Nice job, ill use these for sure, i already had a way you could rip off body parts but it was only at a range, or a close combat critical. But ya ill have that skill, Thanks.
