Instead of having a dead pile, in 1 game my friend and I were so lazy we just called the deas figures dangerous terrain instead of removing them. It was quite a fun game as he plays IG and I was using my nids so there was lots of dangerous terrain no whenever I play that friend we do it Anyone else done this

I personally haven't, but I can see potential. Hiding behind bodies doesn't seem like a bad idea for a quick cover save, perhaps you could use this:
Models on a 25-39mm base = 6+ Cover Save
Models on a 40-59mm base = 5+ Cover Save
Models on a 60+mm base = 4+ Cover Save
That way, guardsmen will give a small cover save, but hiding behind the bulk of a terminator would give a better one, and hiding behind a slain greater daemon (unlikely, but still) would be better than that.
Also, i'd force a leadership check if they're casualties from your own army; it can be quite demoralising using your dead best friend as a bullet shield. Obviously fearless units wouldn't care.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
Excerpt from "Seeress of Kell", Book Five of The Malloreon series by David Eddings.

I am liking this a lot. How about instead of the leadership test, there is a mince one to the leadership for all the units currently hiding behind the corpses of friends as long as they remain there.

AAHAHAHA.. I reaaly would like to try....
The problem is the base... very unaesthetic.... we all should have removable bases....

It's a fun and quite good idea, but what I don't like is having the models fall over... The paint could get scratched off.

I'd say if you add that any dozer-blade type of vehicle add-on or blast template weapon would "clean-up" the mess when it passes through the pile of bodies I think you have a gory and grim dark winner. Sure makes me want to play the old "Meat-Grinder" scenario from 3rd edition!

I am for the difficult terrain test, but I don’t see why it should be dangerous terrain. Do corpses explode when they are stepped on? Minefields are dangerous terrain because people are blown up running across them. I don't think its realistic that a space marine is taken out of the game because he tripped over the body of an imperial guard when charging into combat.

It is dangerous terrain because of the baonettes and claws or cc weapons someone might still hoild when they die.
or maybe there is a greade that did not go off.
