I have an idea for a conversion for some space marine assault marines. To make them look more fluffy in my salamanders army, I had the idea of changing their jump packs to dragon (see also salamander) wings, something like the Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard.

Does anyone know where I can get some appropriately sized wings for my marines? I was looking around but didn't really find anything that looked right or consistent.

And yes, I know fluff wise, assault marines don't fit with salamanders.

Possessed Backpacks are probably the best wings in terms of size, however a techno-organic backpack might not be good for the Salamanders. Perhaps you can cut those down and fit them onto a normal backpack?

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard packs + Tyranid Gargoyle Wings

That's what I'm using for my Sang Guard packs in my "counts as BAs" Night Lords army. They even fit together beautifully..almost like they made them to do it.

I didn't think about gargoyles. They would probably work great.
@Mechaemperor: what are possessed? Are they Chaos space marines?

Yeah, possessed are CSM elites. The wings sprout out of a backpack. I think the gargoyle wings look more dragon-y though. You might want to stick with them. I have a friend who used them on his cold one knights to make Dragon Princes, and it looked pretty good. Gargoyle wings are definitely worth using. And they're a helluva lot cheaper too-each individual possessed backpack will run you at least 5 bucks.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Exactly what I was going to suggest....but if you want to mount them on an SM backpack I'd say to go with the single engine jump packs off the Sanguinary Gaurd...mount the bat wings where the feathery ones go.

You're going to end up with a squad that looks like Chaos Raptors though.
