I was just mulling this idea as an overall SM upgrade for all the chapters. The idea is that for 20pts (Twice the cost of a stormbolter), you get an astartas grenade launcher in place of your storm bolter. Would still have the krak and frag choice in it, but would be good for drop pods and rhinos that are transporting assault units. Thought you guys might give me some commentary on this idea, as I am open to messing with it quite a bit.

10 points to replace the one on rhinos and pods and 20 points for a new one on anything (vindicators, predators, land raiders, rhinos, razorbacks, whirlwinds, etc.)

i like that idea. it could be used in any army. IG could realy use that. 20 pts for a new one, or 10 to replace a stormbolter/heavystubber. i would like to see a hull mounted G/L in placeof a heavy bolter or flamer.

Sounds good to me. Makes your rhino more than just a transport with weak fire support. I'd like flamers as an option too.

But with a large transport capacity, and no stormbolter.

But the point of difference between a Rhino and a Razorback is that one has a good gun and one doesn't, so why try to change the point of it to suit you more when the game doesn't want you to?

an 18" grenade launcher instead of a stormbolter sounds fine, you dont get both, you get one or the other. Its just to change things up a little.

Rhinos don't vary a whole lot. I would like to take more weapons than just storm bolter or missile launcher.
