Deadly Dark Eldar Warrior

Ok, so im currently running a dark eldar army, but the tau have recently caught my interest and im thinking about playing them as a secondary army. I made a 1000 point list with them and im looking fr some of advice on how to make a good 1000pt list Plz post, and criticism is welcomed!
HQ:
Commander Tau Shas'o...112 pts
-Missile Pod
-Multi-Tracker
-Airbusting fragmentation projector
Elites:
XV8 Crisis Suit Shas'Ui(X3)...186pts
-Plasma Rifle
-Missle Pod
-Multi Tracker
Troops:
Fire Warrior Team Shas'la(x12)...120pts

-Targeting Array
Fire Warrior Team Shas'la(x12)...120pts
DT: Devilfish ...90pts
-Disruption Pod
-Targeting Array
Fast Attack:
Pirahna(x1)...85 pts
-Disruption Pod
-Seeker Missiles(x2)
Pirahna(x1)...85 pts
-Disruption Pod
-Seeker Missiles(x2)
Heavy Support:
Hammerhead Gunship...155 pts
-Railgun
-Burst Cannon(x2)
-Disruption Pod
TOTAL:1043pts
Me and my 40k friends go 50 over or under the set point limit most of the time, so 1043 is ok

you have 4 seeker missiles, but i see no marker lights to fire them... that is 40 points of nothingness. other then that, i would say trim the FW squads down a bit and add some kroot in. stick them in some woods and they dont go away unless a flamer looks at them. if you need them to hold a quarter then just go to ground and laugh. for smaller games like this, splitting the crisis suits up is not a bad idea. a squad of 2, then a squad of 1 who is joined by the HQ. to help make the battle suits survive a lot longer, you should upgrade 1 to a team leader and give him a hard wired drone controller W/ 2 shield drones. doing that to 1 battle suit and the HQ is 65 points (2 drones each)... if you cut one of those open toped fast attack skimmer killpoint machines out then you would have points left over. if you want a dead ard squad, then keep the suits 3 strong. add that shield drone team leader, then stick more shield drones in the unit with the HQ. ok, this is going to sound a little funny... but if you play the numbers, firestorm (multi tracker, missile pod, burst cannon) suits are better at just about everything then fireknife (multi tracker, missile pods, plasma rifle) suits... they have a lot more dakka, and you can be 18 inches away instead of dancing with close combat at rapid fire range of plasma guns. and for 5th ed its all about massed shots now not high quality shots, with the fireknife setup they can put several plasma gun hits on 1 guy, then armor saves on the rest. now a huge problem i have with the tau devilfish is that they are worth 2 kill points. 1 for the tank itself, and 1 for the drones it carries... the only way you can avoid this is to run warfish, which have never let me down. its a 120 point beast of a tank. devilfish, Multi tracker, SMS, targeting array, disruption pods. 7 S5 shots, 4 of which dont need LOS and dont grant cover saves unless they are IN cover and they all hit on a 3+ any ways, hope that helps.

One recommendation I would add to Envy's is a few modifications to the HQ. I would drop him to an 'El and give him Targeting Array. You get the same BS5 with 15 spare points. I would use those points to HW the Multi-Tracker and use the rest toward's Envy's recommendations.
Another recommendation I would like to make is this: drop the piranhas altogether. In such a small-point game you won't see any tanks that your Hammerhead can't handle. Plus you can use those points to get some shield drones and even another crisis team. Suits are PHENOMENAL in small-point lists.

Im a great purveyor of the crisis bomb, pirhanas are great for higher points armies.
1 Crisis suit with t/l fusion blaster & flamer, deepstriking behind enemy tanks and toasting it. All for a cheap 60pts, sure its not likely to survive the next turn of shooting but it draws fire too it and away from the fireknives.
Maybe add a squad of pathfinders, they amplify the damage output of firewarriors like no mans business. Can turn 1 round of shooting from them from good to "oh lord the target just died"
But this is all personal experience and opinion as ive only played space wolves, my tactics are tragically skewed.

Thanks for the tips!
I was definitely thinking about taking Pathfinders instead of Pirahanas, but the codex says that the Pathfinders NEED to take a devilfish as a transport, and i think a devilfish may be a waste of points for 3 pathfinders with railguns :/
also, i can't figure out what the shield drones do, all i know is that the drone itself has an invuln save or something like that.
Anyway, i will definitely modify this list, and post an update asap Automatically Appended Next Post: Updated Tau 1000 Point List

Looks pretty solid. I see you kept your HQ an 'O. Like I said, an 'El with Targeting Array gives you the same shooting power and 15 extra points, but if you like the 'O, that works, too, hahaha.
Let me know how it works on the table!

Vre *and* Team Leader? You can only have one, and just make it TeamL as 'vre is pointless.

Points are off; my two FireStorms cost an even century.

Add an MT so it can move Combat Speed and shoot all guns. Possibly Target Lock too, to have the BCs hit infantry and the RG hits tanks.
Reasonable enough for 1k.

@Brother: The team leader is upgraded to a 'vre, not that i have one of both, and i really only did that to fill points. As for the firestorm, you're right, i must of counted wrong, my bad And yeah, I'll use the extra points from the miscalculation to ass those to the hammerhead Automatically Appended Next Post: Updated Tau 1000 Point List HQ: Commander Tau Shas'o...152pts -Missile Pod -Multi-Tracker -Airbusting fragmentation projector -Hard Wired Drone Controller -Shield Drone(x2) -stimulant injector Elites: XV8 Crisis Suit Shas'Ui(X2)...150pts -Burst Cannon -Missle Pod -Multi Tracker -Shas'vre -Hard Wired Drone Controller -Shield Drone(x2) XV8 Crisis Suit Shas'Ui(x2)...100pts -Burst Cannon -Missle Pod -Multi Tacker -(Same Squad as Commander) Troops: Fire Warrior Team Shas'la(x10)...100pts DT: Devilfish ...120pts -Disruption Pod -Targeting Array -Multi Tracker -Smart Missle System Fire Warrior Team Shas'la(x10)...100pts DT: Devilfish ...120pts -Disruption Pod -Targeting Array -Multi Tracker -Smart Missle System Heavy Support: Hammerhead Gunship...155 pts -Railgun -Burst Cannon(x2) -Disruption Pod -Multi Tracker -Target Lock TOTAL:1502pts Idk about you guys, but i think it looks pretty good

Well, now you can demote the 'vre' upgrade to get back under 1500.
If your opponents are okay with the extra two points, then switching 'vre' for a Team Leader gets you an included Bonding Knife for your surviving two Crisis Suits in that unit, should they fail morale and need to rally.
Overall; list is okay.
