My question is that since I no longer have a chassis on which to mount the Hydra pieces I got from Forge World, will I be able to use a Manticore chassis to build the Hydra or is it too different from the regular Chimera to use for the conversion kit?

I am pretty sure it is missing some of the basics, but you could probably pull it off. Might actually look cooler that way, to be honest, as it won't look like a basic Chimera with a flak gun on top, since the Manticore driver area is a bit different.

The interior bit of the chimera IS the same as the old one - as the basilisk uses the new chassis AND the old platform parts which slot into place.

Anything which fit into it like that should fit (always exceptions with FW stuff which has a tendency to be badly cast and warped).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

Warped? We are talking Hydra kit here, so for sure on warping and a huge excess of needed trimming and fitting. By far my least favorite kit to assemble to-date from FW.

The one I got the barrels are warped into almost a 180 degree. So it is useless for everything
